Charlton Adam Phaneuf is a singer/songwriter/acoustic-guitarist based out of Hampton Roads, VA. Having worked professionally in various artistic projects for many years has gained him much experience entertaining audiences. His repertoire consists of a wide range of covers and a growing list of unique originals. As a solo-artist, he is capable of captivating an audience with meaningful songs, passionate performance and the creative approach of blending acoustic instruments w/technology. Often he is seen as a “one-man-band”, incorporating guitar, vocals & various percussion w/phrase sampling, layering grooves that weave an improvisational web catching the attention of his listeners. Some may remember Charlton from the experimental band “On Beyond Zee…” (Trumpeter Records) which toured and supported many well-known acts, while maintaining a following in the 90’s. Currently Charlton is sharing his experience with regional musicians by hosting open stages at various venues encouraging the emergence of new talent. He also continues to hone his “organic-acoustic” style, actively playing clubs, festivals, private parties, etc. He debuted recently at the NORVA with his new group “Thinking CAP Trio”, and is excited to announce the release of their six song EP "spoon-fed hed"!
Put your "thinking caps" on and book Charlton or his trio at your event or venue!!!

Charlton! Thanks for another great CD and quite pleasant company. I love your version of Rodeo Clowns, your songwriting and your way with a guitar! At one point I was surprised to be reminded of Gibb Droll's sound on Dharma :) Dom and I certainly owe you one... or three. Katz and Dawgz is great!
After pre-release tours in Colorado and Georgia, Dehlia Low’s new full-length cd “Tellico” will be presented for the first time in Asheville this Thursday at the Grey Eagle ($8/10, thegreyeagle.com)! Several cuts off the new disk can be heard on at www.myspace.com/dehlialow and live takes of a few of the songs will be performed Thursday afternoon on WNCW 88.7FM. Thursday night’s show will also be a chance for those of you who didn’t make it to Merlefest to hear Lyons, Colorado’s own Spring Creek Bluegrass Band, who are also preparing to release a new disk next month. Dehlia Low will also be joined by “Tellico” producer Jon Stickley of the Shannon Whitworth band. We hope to see you out and thanks for supporting live, original, and local music.
