After 25 years, there has to be some change in sound. So it depends on which period in the bands history we are talking about. Early albums for those who want it fast, late 80s for you who prefers dark New Wave inspired sounds, early to mid 90s for some sing-a-long choruses and the last ten odd years we have just been trying to make good music no matter what....
As far as we know, the most long-lived Swedish punkband ever to have walked the earth. For better or for worse, who´s to say?
This band has gone through several incarnations, all displaying their own individual strengths. But it will take you too much time to sit and read through our entire history. It all started in -83, when Johnny and Per hooked up and formed a three-piece-band with a drummer by the name of Martin. Raw and fast punk-rock was the result. All captured on their first two albums (now conviniently released on one cd, "Kröp,gick och skrek")
But things evolve and change over time. And Charta 77 has tried it all, reverb-drenched New Model Army-esque stuff on the album "White Face", melodic punk-rock that will fit your skateboard, did a concept-punk-album five odd years before Green Day, exhaust-fume-fueled garage punk. But some things stay the same; the political awareness, the love of the music they play, Johnny´s Les Pauls, the need to take things in different directions and Per and Johnny (we don´t know for sure, but they might be married). It´s hard to imagine one without the other.
The current line-up has been together since 2003, when the amazing drummer, Johan Hultman, joined to fill the spot after Teijo Pulkkinen. This line up also include, bass-player, Mattias Söderlund, who has been part of the Charta 77-family since 2000. This incarnation released the album, "Spegelapan", in 2004. By many held as one of the best albums in the bands history.
Vi är ett italienskt band med svenska ambitioner och vårt album, the regency, inspelat mellan Italien och Stockholm, kommer ut i Sverige 16 november. Vi behöver en entusiastisk publik för våra första spelningar i Sverige/Danmark! 2 december - Bodoni (MALMÖ) 3 december - 1 night at Huset (KÖPENHAMN). "(med gamla trummisen)", det sista vi gjorde innan vår gamla trummis lämnade bandet. inget jätteseriöst men det kan ju vara trevligt med lite skaraborgspunk ibland! ;)
September 1:st our 1:st single, Dare To Lick (Hunter's Red Sleeve), from our upcoming album SILENT REVOLUTION,was released and is available on iTunes but also on our MySpace of course!
The album will be released October 1:st and later that month we go on tour in Germany with The Movements.
Det drar mig hit och det drar mig dit. Jag behöver fler för att hålla monstret kopplat. Musik, film, poesi, fotografi. Stygga grejer kommer tydligen i många former.
