Take a listen to a “Chatty Maddie” song and chances are you’ll find your toes and/or fingers doing a little tap dance. Fun, quirky, catchy and sometimes silly indie/pop/rock tunes that get stuck in your head are what you’ll find here with this all female, 3-piece, original band.
Based just north of Boston, Chatty Maddie was formed late in 2008 by Paula (vocals/guitar) and Michele (drums/vocals). The pair had played together in previous projects appearing in local venues including The Middle East (upstairs and corner), TT’s, All Asia Bar, The Midway and Club Bohemia to name a few, along many great venues that are, sadly, no longer with us.
Originally the plan was to stay just a 2-piece and pretty much be an “internet” band with little or no gigging but that quickly changed when they were asked to fill a slot at the Middle East. Having no bass player at that time, Ceejay, who Paula had also played with in the past, was asked if she’d be interested in filling in for the show and well, she never left!
Just in case you were wondering, the name came from Michele’s GPS, which is affectionately named “Madison”. She has guided many a road trip and is a wonderful device but often (usually while engrossed deep in a conversation) she butts in. “Take the next right, turn left, turn right, etc..” Frankly, sometimes she won’t shut the heck up and gets quite well… chatty! However, there is always a sigh of relief when “Madison” utters those five joyful words:
“You have reached your destination.”
Ladies of the finest sort! I missed your show and I'm sorry!!! The boy had his first hockey game and well, you know how that goes. Mom before rock star (I mean I'm counting on him to pay the bills someday - not my rockstar-dom!) Forgive me until the next time? And Happy Birthday Michele!

I'm also playing on Twitter a lot these days, so if you're a fellow "Tweeter" add @SheenaMelwani
