Chastity D. Marie calls Texas her home. Her love of music springs from a close family with a spiritual roots. Her parents and siblings have filled their lives and souls with music and have used their gift for performing, mostly in church.
If youre thinking the name Marie sounds familiar, it should. Chaz was half of the Universal Records duo, The Marie Sisters. Their self-titled debut CD was released in June of 2002. She has worked with several Grammy award winning producers such as Guy Roche (Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Rachel Lampa, Aaliyah), Shepp and Kenny (LFO, Mandy Moore LeeAnn Wommack, Willa Ford, Hall & Oates), and Richard Marx. The girls kicked off their CD release by performing at Fan Fair on the River Stages and received over the top response from fans and fellow artists. They were credited by The Tennessean with starting the Street Team craze with photos on billboards and signs all across Nashville. They also received a warm reception at country radio with their debut single, Real Bad Mood. The video did well on CMT, and the girls were spotlight artists on GAC. The CD itself received rave reviews on the song selection and powerhouse vocals.
The Marie Sisters toured with Kenny Rogers, Wynonna, Lonestar, JoDee Messina, Joe Nichols and others. The response to their live appearances was astounding. Fans were mesmerized by their intricate vocal styling and soulful delivery as well as a powerful stage presence that is a gift and cant be taught.
The two years they spent on a major label with Universal was as exciting as it was frustrating, and as many people do as life goes on, though still close,
the sisters came to a crossroads with their label and as individuals.
Chaz, still just 24, was unable and unwilling to deny the blessing that is her voice, so she chose a new beginning. Its a new horizon for me, a chapter in my life I cant wait to read!
Humble, but never timid, she has rebuilt new opportunities with her own bare hands and with the help of fans like Richard Marx, with whom she and
Max T. Barnes had worked on The Marie Sisters CD. Richard, sought by Disney to score a song for their 50th Anniversary Celebration, had written this giant ballad with no one but Chaz in mind for the female part. Chaz flew to Marx studio in Chicago and the magic was reeeally there, and we captured every ounce of it! -awesome! Something to be proud to be a part of indeed.
Chaz is currently working on a brand new project that is finally an expression of her true artistic abilities.
She works with several well known artists and musicians in and around Dallas/Fort Worth. Her band is made up of Dallas finest musicians, Pete Miller, Jerry Matheny, Jay Brown, Billy Freeman, Chris Hall and many more...If you would like to book Chaz for your next event or party, please contact chaz@chazmariemusic.com for more info.
Chaz also works with the world wide known FEVER an Elvis Tribute Band. The band is made up the talented and entertaining musicians Marcus Hurst, Randy Stockum, John Cundiff and Mike Carroll. She and her sister Kessie provide untouchable sibling harmonies. They have worked with Johnny Harra, Johnny Lovett, David Allen, James Wages, Vic Trevino, Johnny Thompson, Shawn Klush, Bennie Wheels, Richard Cook and many more to come!
