Checkpoint Charlie was formed in 2006 in Budapest, Hungary. The band's members all come from different well known Hungarian underground formations, with which they all experienced the ups and downs of the music business, including extensive touring, making records, signing with record labels, etc. In fact, they all have the concrete idea what exactly they want from this band: delivering pure metal music and live shows full of energy. Since the beginning the band has toured in their home country, Hungary, and visited many other European countries as well, including Austria, Slovakia, Latvia and Lithuania. In the meantime they released a 4 tracks self-titled EP in 2007 and an LP in 2008 titled Ordinary Madness. Thanks to their stunning live performance and the success of their first full-length album, they received invitations from clubs and festivals for 2009 from the aforementioned countries and others too, like Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Republic of Belarus, Romania, Sweden, The Netherlands and even the USA. Furthermore, the guys have already started writing new songs for their upcoming album, so 2009 is definitely going to be a busy year for Checkpoint Charlie.
