| General | (more like 'things i like'): love in all forms, people who make a statement without saying a word, trying something new (and finding out i like it), saturday mornings, staying home sporadically 'just because,' running into someone serendipitously, the word "serendipitous," cookbooks, the high that comes after a quality workout, pushing the boundaries of what i think i can do, loving unconditionally, giving complements, having my day made from 1 sentence or moment, something that brings back a specific happy memory, 'girls nights,' silences that aren't awkward, first dates that aren't last dates, driving with the windows down and music loud, guiltless occasional indulgence, a good cry, an ab-straining laugh, finding something out about someone that you wouldn't expect, reconnecting with old friends to find that nothing's changed. | | Music | coldplay (pre X&Y), elliott smith, death cab for cutie, oasis, the postal service, the shins, simon and garfunkel, the doors, the killers, dashboard, DMB (like every other teenager in new england), guster, pink floyd, googoo dolls, bright eyes, damien rice, jason mraz, third eye blind, pixies, panic! at the disco, cursive, led zep, the eagles, styx, james taylor, journey, counting crows, van morrison, the who, queen, something corporate, ben folds, peter gabriel (in your eyes=best song ever), incubus, rush, lynard skynard-- many more, i'm just senile. if it's good music, let me hear it. | | Movies | memoirs of a geisha, dr. zhivago, stand by me, anchorman, sisterhood of the traveling pants, cold mountain, pirates of the caribbean, phantom of the opera, garden state, love actually, almost famous, breakfast at tiffany's, gone with the wind, little women (so good!)- basically a mix of insanely good movies and unrealistically bad ones. | | Television | gilmore girls and laguna (guilty pleasure). watching TV isn't really my forte. i prefer talking, sleeping, writing, going places, eating... basically any other productive alternative! | | Books | memoirs of a geisha, all sorts of poetry, to kill a mockingbird, naked (david sedaris is the best), lovely bones, catcher in the rye, frankenstein (i really liked it...). the only reason that i don't enjoy reading as much is that the whole time i'm reading something, i'd rather be writing something instead. |
