This southern boogie band from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, have drawn inevitable comparisons to Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers Band. The band was formed at the start of the 90s by Mike Farris, Rick White, Bobby Watkins, Steve Burgess and Terry Thomas. A spell as the house band in a local blues club near Vanderbilt University followed, before they signed a major label deal with Atlantic Records. Their 1993 debut was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, with producer Paul Ebersold. Predominantly a hard boogie set along the lines of the self-explanatory "Shakin' The Blues", the album also included the impressive southern pride song, "Moses Brown". The following year the band joined the HORDE festival (Horizons Of Rock Developing Everywhere), a roots-orientated package tour founded by Blues Traveler and Widespread Panic in 1992 as an antidote to Lollapalooza. The band's second album was produced by Michael Barbiero, and introduced a more eclectic style that belied their bar room origins. They moved to Capricorn Records for Big Wheel, which saw them reunited with Ebersold. Their most impressive set to date, the album included several affecting low-key country blues numbers ("It Ain't Nothing" and "Dragon Park") alongside crowd pleasers such as "More Than I Can Take" and "Boogie King".
The latter was also included on The Bride Of Chucky soundtrack.
Mike Farris released a solo album in 2002 entitled "Goodnight Sun." In 2005 SCW released their last recordings (hopefully just for now) on their EP entitled "Ten Miles High." The EP has 4 songs on it.
After taking a hiatus for personal reasons, 2007 has brought Mike Farris back to all of us and a brand new solo album entitled "Salvation In Lights" is now available wherever amazing music is available. Please check MIKE FARRIS as well as Mike's official myspace page for more info!! It's great to have you back Mike.
Bobby Watkins, and Steve Burgess are currently together in a band called STACK. See them in the top friends and check out their page. Terry Thomas was the original drummer for the band but has left the band to join The National Guard. We wish him all the best!!
Rick White's guitar work can be heard on the new CD by Elam McKnight. Rick played on the songs I Buried a Black Cat, Kung Fu Power, Pony Thang, Yo Momma Told a Tale on You/What in the World is Wrong and My Baby Don't See Me. He also played some slide on the last song on the new molding cd "Buddah Tormented by Pol Pot" and will be heard on Kyld Watkins new CD which has not yet been released. (updated 01-21-09)

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time. ~John Lubbock
