   About SCREAMIN CHEETAH WHEELIES
THIS IS A PAGE CREATED BY ONE DIE-HARD WHEELIES FAN!! AT THIS TIME THE BAND IS CURRENTLY NOT TOGETHER. THE BAND'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN SO I CREATED THIS PAGE TO KEEP THE TORCH BURNING!! LET IT BE A MEETING PLACE FOR FANS TO MEET AND SWAP STORIES AND MORE. RIDE THE TIDE!!!! BILL

This southern boogie band from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, have drawn inevitable comparisons to Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers Band. The band was formed at the start of the 90s by Mike Farris, Rick White, Bobby Watkins, Steve Burgess and Terry Thomas. A spell as the house band in a local blues club near Vanderbilt University followed, before they signed a major label deal with Atlantic Records. Their 1993 debut was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, with producer Paul Ebersold. Predominantly a hard boogie set along the lines of the self-explanatory "Shakin' The Blues", the album also included the impressive southern pride song, "Moses Brown". The following year the band joined the HORDE festival (Horizons Of Rock Developing Everywhere), a roots-orientated package tour founded by Blues Traveler and Widespread Panic in 1992 as an antidote to Lollapalooza. The band's second album was produced by Michael Barbiero, and introduced a more eclectic style that belied their bar room origins. They moved to Capricorn Records for Big Wheel, which saw them reunited with Ebersold. Their most impressive set to date, the album included several affecting low-key country blues numbers ("It Ain't Nothing" and "Dragon Park") alongside crowd pleasers such as "More Than I Can Take" and "Boogie King". The latter was also included on The Bride Of Chucky soundtrack.

Mike Farris released a solo album in 2002 entitled "Goodnight Sun." In 2005 SCW released their last recordings (hopefully just for now) on their EP entitled "Ten Miles High." The EP has 4 songs on it.

After taking a hiatus for personal reasons, 2007 has brought Mike Farris back to all of us and a brand new solo album entitled "Salvation In Lights" is now available wherever amazing music is available. Please check MIKE FARRIS as well as Mike's official myspace page for more info!! It's great to have you back Mike.

Bobby Watkins, and Steve Burgess are currently together in a band called STACK. See them in the top friends and check out their page. Terry Thomas was the original drummer for the band but has left the band to join The National Guard. We wish him all the best!!

Rick White's guitar work can be heard on the new CD by Elam McKnight. Rick played on the songs I Buried a Black Cat, Kung Fu Power, Pony Thang, Yo Momma Told a Tale on You/What in the World is Wrong and My Baby Don't See Me. He also played some slide on the last song on the new molding cd "Buddah Tormented by Pol Pot" and will be heard on Kyld Watkins new CD which has not yet been released. (updated 01-21-09)

For more Wheelies information and whatever merchandise is left, check out Thundershack Studios where the Wheelies "Ten Miles High" EP was recorded. Don't forget to subscribe to the Mike Farris blog as well as STACK's. There is also Klyd Watkin's blog on the Thundershack site. This is a great way to keep up to date with what all the Wheelies members are doing today.

Summer Pictures, Images and Photos

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.

I was just Whoohoo'n myself & decided to come have a listen to make the day @ work pass quicker...It makes me sad to think the last time I saw them I was pregnant. Now, my son is almost 6 & will never have the chance to sing & dance for hours on end @ a show like I did so many times.

Crazy!! I was just singing Ride the Tide to my friend this morning. I was telling her about SCW and she said she had heard of them. She asked if there would be a song of theirs that she knows.
So of course I launched into Boogie King and Ride the Tide!!!! Whoo-HOOO!
