I'm 32 years old, 5'4" and 110 lbs. Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer) SURVIVOR!
I'm going through some life changes right now, i used to live in New Jersey and just recently moved to Chicago. I have a 12 year old son, Vincent. We have 2 cats, Shadow and Snarf(can you guess where I got her name?).
Ok, so in 2006 I decided it was time for me to give something back. I signed up for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life on June 10th. It was a 24 hr event, held at Phillipsburg High Schools' Maloney Stadium. I tried my best to get as many donations as possible. Unfortunately, I wasn't up to doing the actual relay.. My lungs were acting up that day.. However I did raise $725 via online donations and am proud to say i won an award for 2nd highest in online donations.
I hope that someday the word cancer will just be an astrological sign and a faded memory for all of us. What a dream! Thank you for your support and for helping me find others to support the cause!
Also I'm involved in a wonderful online world called Second Life.. we have an in world Relay for Life chapter and we were able to raise over $40,000 for the relay in 2006!! In 2007, I created the Relay For Life Racers team, our team raised over $5700 USD, and the Second Life Relay for Life raised over $120,000! It was an amazing experience. For 2008, I'm on the Committee for the Relay and can't wait to see the accomplishments we're going to do! If you're in SL.. Look me up.. Chelle Moore
