Video: Chelsea Performing with UC Santa Barbara's VocalMotion!
Singer/songwriter Chelsea Dyer, has been entertaining audiences since the young age of three, with her powerful, soulful and one of a kind voice. Chelsea knew she wanted to be a singer at a very early age, but that dream was almost over before it even began, after Chelsea was almost expelled from pre-school for performing Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” for her class ‘Show & Tell’ presentation! After some begging and pleading from her parents, and a ban to ever participate in her preschool’s ‘Show & Tell’ ever again, Chelsea was allowed back in school. At the suggestion of her teachers, Chelsea’s parents reluctantly signed her up for voice, dance, and acting lessons. It didn’t take long for people to take notice of Chelsea Dyer’s rare and amazing talent. At the age of 5, Chelsea appeared in her first community musical theatre production, talent showcase, and dance recital. Over the years, Chelsea has starred in over 16 musical productions, won several talent shows, and performed all over the country.
A classically trained vocalist, Chelsea has studied voice at American Conservatory Theater, Blue Bear School of Music, University of California Santa Barbara and most recently, Berklee College of Music in Boston. She is trained in many musical styles such as musical theater, classical, gospel, jazz, blues, rock, pop, and her personal favorite, R&B. Her impressive four-octave powerhouse vocal range, sets her apart from her singer/songwriter peers. Chelsea has performed at the White House, The Staples Center, Madison Square Garden, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, The Marin Civic Center, and has sung the National Anthem multiple times for the Golden State Warriors (NBA), The Clippers (NBA), The NY Knicks (NBA), The SF Giants and The LA Dodgers (MLB).
In 2005, Chelsea took a year off from College to move to New York City to sing and audition for Broadway shows. Chelsea’s talent earned her several call-backs for the roles “Glenda” in Wicked and “Elle Woods” in the musical version of Legally Blonde. In the fall of 2006, Chelsea moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music to study voice and Music Business. With the encouragement of one of her Berklee professors, Chelsea began to focus more on her songwriting and later found herself working side by side with her professor on her new demo. Chelsea has not given up her dreams of being on Broadway, but right now she is focusing on her music.
After finishing her studies at Berklee College of Music, Chelsea relocated to Los Angeles in 2008. She has been writing and recording new material, as she continues to pursue her dream of becoming a successful recording artist.
Chelsea would like to thank all her friends, family and fans for their continued love and support!!!
