   About Chelsea Genzano

"Chelsea's demeanor on stage is riveting and soothing. She is the best kind of strong. Her command of her instruments is inspiring."

- Melissa Ferrick, singer/songwriter
"Ms. Genzano has that slightly Badu-esque fingersnap swagger. Her vocals are sweet and spot-on..."- Craig Gilbert, The New Haven Advocate

Chelsea playing at Acoustic Alliance in San Diego, CA

Chelsea Genzano was plucking out tunes on the piano by the age of 4, teaching herself to play guitar by the age of 11, and performing in coffee shops and bars at only 13 years old. Now Chelsea is bringing her gift of soul to an all too often bland world of acoustic music. She's not your average "folk-singer" by any means, mixing reggae, hip-hop, soul and jazz tendencies with the simplicity of your mama's folk music. Her guitar playing ranges from soft folky finger-picking to aggressive hammer-ons. Her lyrics are frighteningly honest, and her voice blows open the doors to any venue. Chelsea has opened for artists such as Melissa Ferrick, Patty Larkin, Edie Carey, Kris Delmhorst, Catie Curtis, Jess Klein, Pamela Means, Rachael Sage and Ember Swift and has performed at such renowned venues as The Bitter End in NYC, Acoustic Cafe in Bridgeport, CT, and the SoNo Arts fest in South Norwalk, CT.

a world run by machine ,
mans lost his soul
the gods of technology
have taken control

a world run by machine,
a silicone brain
the newest tools rule,
saying man's gone insane

it's the sum of all fears
what we carry inside
that one day real soon
that the whole world
will die

now the oceans are sulfur ,
the mountains are dust
and all of the people
are starting to rust

Thanksgiving

We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us.

We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water.

We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases.

We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their light when the sun was gone.

We return thanks to the sun, that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye.

Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in Whom is embodied all goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children.

~Iroquois

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.
