Chelsea Lynn LaBate has spent the past four years honing her song-writing skills on the stages of NYC's Lower East Side and Brooklyn. Known for her lush "song stories," she paints pictures with her words, lyrically exploring human suffering, personal triumphs, courage, solitude and found love.
Her ghostly ballads, combine an unchartable finger picking style with a warbling voice that captivates and stuns. Inspired by the works of Suzanne Vega, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, Chelsea Lynn has been prolific in her writing, and has composed and recorded dozens of songs since picking up the guitar in 2003.
She is freshly back in The States from a successful six country European tour with Steve Waitt and is recording her new album Food, Water, Shelter to be released in 2009.
She is currently booking in the South East.

Where might a fan find the lyrics to "Patterns of Flight?" Will you be adding lyrics from your new songs to your book... or is there another book for our collections, in the future?
Chelsea Lynn LaBate, your music permeates my entire life. I sing your songs to people who might never know you. Thank you for writing what you have written, and for what will come. Peace. m
Thank you so much for the card, Chelsea! We hope the road is being good to you. Your CD plays every day here. (Some of us know all the words) Looking forward to more of you, your music and your magic... when you come our way again in the fall.
guitar Look up guitar at Dictionary.com 1621, ult. from Gk. kithara "cithara," a stringed musical instrument related to the lyre, perhaps from Pers. sihtar (see sitar); the name reached Eng. several times, including early 14c. giterne, in reference to various stringed, guitar-like instruments; the modern word is directly from Sp. guittara, from Arabic qitar, from the Gk.
