I can never get through a whole loaf by myself before it goes stale or moldy. Plus, with someone around to share food with, I might be able to get a little more ectomorphic. I want to learn to share more.
Finally, a decent man to put this country's best face forward -- he won and I am so happy. Let's hope he won't become a pawn of vested interests, and lead his "Team of Rivals" to a better country & world for you and me. 
As a result of seeing NYC subway ads for the Freelancers Union, and being an Independent Contractor, I have decided to join.  | | Music | I'm in 3 bands: Environmental Encroachment, Chicago Aissawa and the Strange Attractor. I play drums/percussion in all of them.
Lately I've been listening to: early '70s British prog rock, Steve Roach (ambient artist on heavy rotation at my work), mash-ups (Go Home Productions and fellow travelers), the Beatles, whatever my roommate has on Last.fm. I inherited copious amounts of rare punk rock & New Wave .mp3's from my ex-g.f. I also like Honk (aka alt-marching band), Classic Rock, Northern Soul, straight-ahead jazz, dub, trip-hop, lounge, loungecore, illbient (like Boards of Canada), drum & bass, Orchestre tout-puissant likembe Konono No. 1., post-rock (Stereolab, Trans Am, Joan of Arc, the Sea and Cake, Tortoise), and so much more... | | Movies | Loved There Will Be Blood -- P. T. Anderson is one of my favorite directors. 2001: A Space Odyssey has to be my favorite film, followed closely by Magnolia, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the original Star Wars. I just recently tried to watch "The Wedding Crashers" and can't seem to get through it. In fact, I think I'll cancel my Netflix subscription since I've had the same 3 movies out for over 6 months and never watched them. Yeesh! | | Television | As of lately, I haven't been watching television. | | Books | I'm just not in a very literary/literate mood lately. I vow to read more books, and am open to your suggestions... | | Heroes | At this moment I am re-evaluating what it means to be a hero. About me:
Why "chemical_carlos"? It's a moniker I inherited from my friend TJ while I was conceiving of a concoction to neutralize the effects of alkaline playa dust in the Black Rock Desert on the skin. It involved citric acid plus natural herbs and aloe (didn't work too well 'cos it dried sticky on the skin). I sought to get an analysis of the dust's chemical composition to better understand what I was doing. Hence the name. Anyway, I'm a Massage Therapist in Chicago who plays in 3 bands. I was born & raised here in Chicago, but got around to seeing other parts of the world, trying out life in other cities, but I've always come back. I spend way too much time on the Internets [sic]. I speak some Spanish and French, plus a sampling of other languages. I look young for my age. I used to be a full-on vegan Anarchist, but -- long story short -- I'm not anymore. I am very fond of collecting interesting facts about various subjects (at least *I* think they're interesting). Many who know me can vouch for the fact that I am a "fount of useless knowledge." Several people have told me that I would be their first pick for the Life Line if they ever got on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?". Yes, I know all sorts of factoids, and I can't shut up about it.

Who I'd like to meet:
Other Burners, Honkers, Massage Therapists, left-leaning Farkers, commuter cyclists, nice and real people, semi-famous performers, and perhaps the one woman whose love combined with mine will blow a giant hole in the Universe. I believe that when this love becomes realized, when this chemical reaction takes place, it will warp the very fabric of space and time... for the betterment of us all.
