D and Sif form the boundary blurring, eclectic, and electrifying Hip-Hop group Chemistry brought together by an amazing passion for music, success, and freedom of expression.

Born in Haiti and raised in Queens, NY, D is no stranger to struggle. At an early age he had the daunting responsibility of taking care of his younger brother while his older brother Yves, whom had been incarcerated during D’s adolescence, was absent. To cope with the hardships, he found his escape in writing lyrics and making the kind of music he loved to listen to.

While D prepared to take his pursuit of a music career quite seriously, there was another young man going through a similar struggle about 240 miles north. Sif migrated to Utica, NY at the age of 12 from the war torn Bosnia. Witnessing the violence that took place in his country, he and his family had to relocate to the U.S.A. for their safety. With a new beginning, Sif looked forward to a better and brighter future in the States. Like D, Sif found his release through music and began writing music and honing his skills. His love for sonic poetry was evident.

But, it wasn’t until a fateful recording session in college that brought these two together in early 2007. A mutual friend by the name of Frankie P had produced tracks for both D and Sif that led to their inevitable introduction. Since they met, there’s been undeniable chemistry. Fast forward to May of 2007 and Chemistry had already completed a demo, lined up performances in New York City, and had discussed plans of releasing an album. Their first performance took place at the Terpsichorean Dance Company’s semi-annual dance showcase which took place in Oneonta, NY. They had performed Bananas and the feedback from the crowd of over 500 people was unprecedented. After that show, virtually everyone in the school began to wear T-Shirts with a banana logo on it and the local clubs and bars spun the single every weekend. From that point on they knew Chemistry had what it took to make it in the Record Industry.

Chemistry has created such a buzz that within a year of its culmination they have seen reputable underground nods, including winning the Best Underground Rap Duo award at the 2008 Underground Music Awards, as well as a solid cult following, and a completed LP ready for major label release. If that wasn't enough, Chemistry gained the attention of Hip-Hop Superstar Juelz Santana who as soon as hearing their record 'Get Down' offered to do a verse on it all within 24 hours. Chemistry has acquired numerous accolades in such a short amount of time further validating their high expectations. Some of their accomplishments also include:
