A very strange mixture: Bjork (for her experimentation, using orchestral instruments and using a variety of styles), Cinephile, (one of the best unsigned bands for my taste that I've ever heard on a site like this one - You can find them at Myspace - chillout / trip hop), Clannad, Ian Van Dahl, Nu jazz (jazz mixed with electronic beats and / or synth sounds) eg Nils Petter Molvær eg Bugge Wesseltoft, Portishead, Shelley Preston (lead vocals for Cloudfish and quintessenza www.shelleypreston.co.uk), Sade, Goldfrappe, Shakatak, acid jazz, Brand new heavies, Incognito, a local 18 piece big band my Dad has played in since I was 4 years old, Herbie Hancock, (for his piano playing and mixing funky jazz with electronic sounds), If you like Herbie or anything funky check out " WTF "at Myspace - an unsigned London based group - I love their current EP, any 70's jazz / rock / funk fusion, Evanescence, Maroon 5, George Michael, Garbage, George Shearing, Matt Bianco, Earth Wind and Fire, New Order, Buddy Rich - big band, Gloria Estephan, Maynard Ferguson Big Band, Joss Stone, Prodigy, Bucks Fizz, (don't like most of their most famous songs now but still love their harmonies, ballads and lesser-known rockier tracks. A very under rated group because they didn't release most of their best tracks as singles in the height of their popularity and cause their most famous song is, in my opinion, their worst ever single. Check out "You and your heart so blue - A cepela version, and "Now those days are gone" if you like vocal harmonies. You might be pleasantly surprised, Jethro Tull, (for the style of flute playing), Robbie Williams, Enya, Robert Miles, Anastacia, Alison Moyet, Skunk Annansie, Lisa Stansfield, Imagination, Kim Wilde, Sizzor scisstors, Frank Sinatra, Beverly Craven, Ricky Martin, Abba, Chilli Peppers, Jay Aston, Howard Jones, (for his lyrics and synthesizers), Nik Kershaw, various Baroque music for the interweaving strings parts, listening to nature and other every day non-musical sounds,... I'm sure there are loads more which I've forgotten to mention.....
Sounds Like
Some of the above mixed together in various combinations. eg some songs are like George Michael, Matt Bianco, Ian Van Dahl, Sade, Clannad, Herbie Hancock, ......

It's hard to categorize what music we play . Dad (Terry Flynn) brings his jazz, Latin and disco influences to our sound.(See below for details of some of the famous jazz musicians he has played with). My influences include funk, synthesizer music, Latin pop, and rock, as well as having my Dad's passion for big bands. Sometimes we play one style, sometimes we mix different types together.
TERRY FLYNN - (KEYBOARDS / FLUTE)
In the 60’s Terry played with many famous jazz musicians including: Kenny Baker, Betty Smith, Danny Moss, Joe Harriet, Don Rendle, Bill Le sage (who played with “The Dankworth Seven”), and Kathy Stobart (who was a tenor sax player in “The Ted Heath Band”). He also played keyboards, flute and vibraphones in a number of local groups. He currently plays vibraphones some Sundays in an 18 piece big band at The Blue Lagoon, Hilsea, Hampshire, England.
In the 60's and 70's Terry played in bands which had to back many famous acts, such as: Roy Castle, John Pertwee, and Tom O' Conner. Terry stood in for "The Barron Knights' " keyboard player for one evening.
Terry played piano and vibraphones in “The Centre Band” and “The Thompson Wichello Big Band”. The two bands entered a national big band contest several times during the 70’s and 80’s. Both groups were finalists and consequently played on the radio. Terry played on Radio Luxembourg with “The Bill Cole Quartet”. He also appeared on Southern Television while backing other groups.
Terry’s experience is not limited to jazz. He evolved throughout the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s to accommodate each particular popular style of music.
Terry went to Bognor College of Education and in the 70's became head of music in a large junior school. He ran music courses for teachers in junior schools in the 80's and still teaches privately.
CHERIE FLYNN - (VOCALS / FLUTE / KEYBOARDS / GUITAR / COMPOSER)
Cherie has been writing songs since the age of 7. Her writing covers various genres including jazz, rock, funk, dance, chillout and Latin.
During her teens Cherie played flute at music festivals and concerts, as a member of a Classical / Baroque ensemble, and The Gosport Orchestral Society. In contrast, she currently sings; plays flute, keyboards and guitar in Jazz and Pop groups.
Cherie teaches keyboards in a junior school, and teaches piano and flute privately.

Hi...thanks so much for the request. If you´d like to listen to my new single just visit my profile. I´ll put the new track into the music box for an exclusive pre-listening today...best Kim
Check out Millenium Music (www.millenium-music.co.uk). They've got some cracking deals on USB controller keyboards and everything else. I normally check them out first before anywhere else.
I also read your post about electronic music, Id also like to suggest "Reason". Maybe sounding biased (as thats the program I use lol) , but its relatively easy to set up, and if you like synths theres a lot to play around with....
Thanks for the comment!
Sounds Great!
The album comes out this summer. Unfortunately I have nothing for sale yet, but thanks for the request.
Take care,

hi Cherie
thank you for getting in touch and for your kind comment, wich is the first on my site, i am new on myspace :-)
i like your medley, it's like travelling thru all these styles of music.
so i wish you great success for your future recording sessions with your new multitrack gear :-)
i record with computers but still remember the feeling when i got my first 4track recorder: be-your-own-band. for me it was like a kind of drug, i never could stop or get enough of it.
i'd like to know how you are doing with your new recordings and listen to the new tracks.
best wishes and success!
patty
(and sorry for my bad english)
Hi Cherie, thank you for trying to listen, I know what you mean because that happens to me too sometimes...the player won't load properly and I'm unable to hear songs. Luckily, it's not the case with your music, because I was just able to listen! Very nice work. I like the fact you mix so many different styles in what you do, I hear elements from almost every genre and that is interesting. You also sing very well. Keep it up! :]
