Cherokee Hawk

Cherokee Hawk Born of a prostitute mother and leftist militant father, Christina Angela Hawk leaves Dallas, Texas for Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico to pursue a degree in music and English, but also majors in hedonism and excess. After she falls from grace, Cherokee is taken involuntary by her campus minister who is a Filipino woman and lives with her family. While attending Eastern New Mexico, Cherokee develops a friendship with her roommate that later goes beyond that. After college, Cherokee juggles with her life in terms of her career as a writer, her band, her sexuality, and spirituality. Her journey begins from birth and the story takes you from the time she was a small child going through her first week of summer camp, through her teenage years in high school, her first year of college and beyond. Her journey will make you laugh, cry, and think of your own journey in life. Through her journey Cherokee is a young girl on the road to discovering and defining herself as a woman. This Journey is not just Cherokee’s; all the characters that surround her have journeys of their own.
