We call it
Phunk Rock
The band was founded 3 years ago by Vocalists ReDD and Andrez Harriott. The musicians have been friends for fifteen years and had always wanted to collaborate musically. Once they started writing it became very clear that the vision for the band musically and lyrically was being realised and the outcome was amazing!
The next phase involved putting a live band together that could translate the emotion of the music to an audience.
ReDD and Andrez had an idea to re-visit the college that had played a major part in their growth as musicians to find the next pieces of the CherryBlackStone puzzle. So it was off to The Brits Performing Arts College where, through auditions, they found two highly talented and totally committed musicians:
Ashton Miranda, the Keyboard player, uses every part of his body to play his instrument. He lives and breathes the project and saw the musical vision from the beginning.
Rupert Caney, the lead Guitarist, knows how to be a team player and provides the riffs and hooks that cut through the music.
2006 proved to be an amazing year for the band and helped to increase their fan base across the world.
The band played 40 dates which included supporting Jamie Cullum, a 15 date university tour and sold out performances at the half moon on London.
The band have also received major press coverage. In January 2007 they were singled out by Company magazine as a band to watch for this year.
The band released their single “Kushti” which is still available via I-Tunes in November 2007. They are now preparing for the launch of their debut album “Forget the Formula”.

Thank you for a night i will never forget. Come Too Far has had a big impact on me, what a song!! I qualified as a teacher last year and the sentiments of the song brought back memories, e.g. If i Give up now, all the years ive put in would go to waste, I'd fade away. Also, Stay with me forever just blew me away and a song to relate to. Im a massive music and go 2 loads of gigs, and i really hope this tour will take you to the masses! Please come back to North Wales again!! I live in Wrexham, and theres a couple of good venues there.

Saw, heard and met Cherry Black Stone for the first time last night. They were supporting Beverley Knight at the Cambridge Corn Exchange and they were AWESOME! I don't think I have ever seen a support act get such a positive response at a gig. At the end of the night they took the time to meet, chat and sign copies of their CD which was a really nice touch. What a great sound and talent, I look forward to seeing and hearing more from these guys!

I just wanted to drop you a line as I went with a friend to watch Beverley Knight last night in Oxford and wanted to say that Cherry Blackstone were awesome! I’ve never heard FuckRock like that before, absolutely amazing. Not only were the songs refreshingly original but such a professional and enthusiastic performance from an unsigned band was breath-taking. You guys are going to be stars, no doubt. Please could you let me know if you have any more information about when you will be releasing your new album?
