Cherry Hill's music is true to the roots of Rock & Roll, with their soulful harmonies, deep bass riffs, and wailing guitar solos. It takes you back, and moves you forward in time all at once. Come to a show, soak it in, and join the C-Hill family.
With their signature style, electric stage show, and over a decade of experience, Cherry Hill has proven that it has what it takes to make a lasting impression on the American music landscape. The story of Cherry Hill begins with childhood friends Matt James and Brandon Kiser. After being cut from the high school baseball team, Matt picked up a guitar, Brandon a pen, and they started starting writing songs. With the chemistry building, Matt enlisted the help of high school orchestra bass player Jared Owen and friend Jamie Urcioli and they never looked back.
Originally playing under the name Copperpot, the boys quickly garnered a sizeable Las Vegas following with their heavy melodies, soulful harmonies, and Matt’s blues-inspired guitar style.
Copperpot made the rounds performing in Las Vegas venues such as the USA Cafe, The Railhead and the Sand Dollar Lounge. They established a residency at The Boston and quickly gained a reputation as one of Vegas’ top shows. The band's performance at the Eat'M Festival caught the attention of the execs at WindWard Records, ultimately landing them a record deal. Soon after, they began touring the LA area, performing at venues such as The Knitting Factory, The Cat Club, The Key Club and Coconut Teasers. Prior to releasing their first album in 1998, WindWard folded and the band returned to Vegas.
In 2003, Copperpot became Cherry Hill and self-released its debut album, “The Struggle,” and quickly sold over 2,000 copies. The single "Prelude" became Garageband.com's Track of the Week and received numerous internet awards. The next year, the band wrapped up a residency at Murphy's Pub in Las Vegas, began production on their second independent release, and opened for Frank Hannon of Tesla and Epic Records recording artist Val Emmich. They also performed at the Hard Rock Cafe's 2004 Major Label Showcase in Salt Lake and received outstanding reviews from execs at Columbia, Atlantic and Epic Records.
Cherry Hill’s 2005 sophomore effort, “Things Happen Naturally,” spawned the single “Anymore,” featured on the hit CBS drama “NUMB3RS” and furthered their reputation as an independent powerhouse.
In 2007 the band started writing new songs and putting together material for a new album. They continued to perform throughout Las Vegas becoming regulars at The Rainbow Bar, The Freakin Frog, and the House of Blues. That year they also had the honor of opening up for Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth.
In early 2008, the boys discovered local rocker Seth Floyd, and after a short audition, asked him to start performing with them in shows. Seth has brought depth and a new dimension to the Cherry Hill sound, and is now a permanent member.
Currently, Cherry Hill is working on its third independent and highly anticipated album "Awakenings" and continues to pack Vegas venues.
