Detroit born Jonny began his Garage Punk career in the 80s with high school pals Freddy Fortune and Michael Maltese (whom later formed reknowned Fortune & Maltese) in Nuggets/Pebbles inspired The Covingtons, playing the seediest dives with like minded miscreants such as The 3D-Invisibles and The GORIES.
Upon moving to New York he formed Jonny Chan & the New Dynasty Six
Whom became one of the most popular bands in Manhattan and were voted ‘BEST BAND IN BROOKLYN’ by the NEW YORK PRESS.
They have shared the stage in New York with ? & The Mysterians, Rocket from The Crypt, Richard & the Young Lions, The Fleshtones and even the Troggs! And played Rock’n’Roll photographer Bob Gruen’s birthday party.
Jonny Chan recorded the theme song (& appeared on) the amazing cult monster themed kids show ‘Ghoul A Go Go’.
