About me: The Cherrywood Art Fair is NOT your grandma’s holiday bazaar. But we ARE:
A juried show. Many artists apply, but few are chosen: we select participants for the quality of their work, and strive to balance the show, so you don’t have to browse ten jewelers to see one painter (or vice versa).
A showcase for ORIGINAL art. You’ll find treasures at all prices, from affordable jewelry to gallery-quality oil paintings – and it’s all made by hand in Texas. You’ll see wonderful pieces by well-known artists AND discover talented newcomers before they make it big.
Free, family-friendly fun. Kids make their own art while their parents shop and listen to live music by top Austin artists. There’s great food from Travelling Bistro. Supporting arts and artful landscape in East Austin. The Cherrywood Art Fair began as a neighborhood lark. We’ve evolved into CHULA, the Cherrywood Urban Landscape and Art league, an energetic, ambitious new non-profit.
We’ve already raised thousands of dollars for the art program at Maplewood Elementary, and supported neighborhood beautification projects. But this is only the beginning...
Who I'd like to meet: art & music lovers of all ages
The December '07 show was an amazing success, as I hope it was for all the vendors. A wonderful crowd, selection of artists, music, food (and thanks to all the voluteers and donations) I am already excited about next year. Great job organizing Kathleen!
