That would be a real luxury, but sometimes manage to employ the talents of Alisdair Cherry on guitar, Chris Potts on t-chest bass, Lou Hartley on backing vocals, plus various other friends who bang, pick and blow things.

at last a real song for Liverpool? Well that's for you to decide but I'm sure you'll agree it's a step in the right direction compared to other recent infamous cultural gems such as, 'Liverpyooool, yer mean the world to me, though I wouldn't dream of coming back.'
For seven years or more we played Friday nights at The Grapes in Mathew Street. Landlord, Alan, God bless him, keeping the music live against a rising tide of blandness and karaoke. Packed into that bar, no bigger than your Aunty's front parlour, you'd find soapstars, gangsters, footballers, tourists, and the regular crowd of permanently bewildered ... Alan, Anne, Jed and One-Arm John. Steve the Magician and Stan the Man. The High Priest singing Sinatra with The Fabulous Franky Flame and, of course, the little fella with the bugle who moved to Spain. This song is for them and the Friday night crowd of hunter gatherers who continue to frequent Mathew Street in search of enlightenment, high on vodka shots and aftershave. It features myself and Alisdair Cherry on guitars and stuff, the legendary Brian 'saxophone' Jones (he of The Undertakers & Glitter Band) plus H Bomb Baby, the finest belly dancer in Wallasey. Hope you like it.
