As part of Oxjam, MTV launched a brand new talent initiative called 'Get Seen, Get Heard' - calling out to the nation's up-and-coming music stars to get involved in the festival for the chance of recognition on MTV.
Bands and artists playing at Oxjam gigs throughout the UK filmed their performances and uploaded them to a specially created MTV website. The most popular Oxjam acts, as voted by MTV viewers, are now appearing on MTV in a series of Get Seen, Get Heard profiles. Over the coming weeks the 22 finalists will be whittled down to a final five who will each receive a mentoring session with a music industry expert. The pinnacle of the initiative will see each of the five finalists performing at a series of special gigs to mark the beginning of Oxjam 2007, details of which will be confirmed at a later date.
Now, Oxjam and MTV are working together to make Oxjam even bigger and better - so start your bid for fame today by taking part in Oxjam.

Check out these stats - Oxjam will be twice as big this year with around 40,000 musicians and an audience of 300,000 expected to take part in 3,000 music events in October for Oxjam - the biggest music festival ever in the UK.
We need more people involved now to organise an event in time for October to help raise a total more than £1 million to help end poverty. Oxjam website
Oxjam is a music festival with a difference - you make it happen. The thousands of events put on by music lovers - from large-scale festivals to local sponsored busks - during October will produce the equivalent of 500 days of continuous music, all raising money for Oxfam.

If you're feeling very generous, supportive, loving, encouraging, facilitating and amenable you could even pass this information on. It really would be appreciated. I will gladly reciprocate with any information that you wish to share.
And, of course, if you're feeling suitably benevolent, moved, solvent, click-happy, adventurous, or just willing to give it a go – you could always treat yourself!
There's also a slightly desperate, somewhat nerdy and unnecessarily needy press release for you to peruse on the blog...
We need as many cities as possible to get onboard and run a Buskathon this year. It's simple to setup and free to run, but the best thing is that anyone can signup to play! More info and tips on how to run the event are available here. We've got lots of support to offer and all Buskathons will be promoted throughout the UK.
