I'm not much of a movie-watcher on my own. My husband, however, is one the most serious Trekkies I've ever met. I went with him to see the latest Star Trek movie in the theather - a very interesting date night indeed. Lately I've been watching his collection of Star Trek movies at home with him - yes, he has every Star Trek movie up to the last one. It has been interesting.Television
I have also been watching episodes of Stargate with my delightfully sci-fi-fanatic husband. Yes, he has the entire series of Stargate on DVD. Bless his heart.Books

Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David. Some of these guys were liars, too arrogant for their own good, murderers, or adulterous. Yet if God can do humongous, world-changing, history-changing things through these guys - and bless them abundantly on top of that - then surely there's hope for me. :o)

I'm grateful every day for my God showing me how to honor Him and how to be myself. I've had the adventure and privilege of serving as a chaplain assistant in the U.S. Army for 6 years. I've met some amazing people in the military who have taught and shown me so much. Yes, servicemembers are just as human as anybody, but the demanding lifestyle of military service cultivates outstanding strength that shows up when it's most needed. Most people who knew me before I enlisted could never imagine me as a Soldier - and most of the time, even while serving, I had a hard time believing it myself! It was an experience I wanted though, with all its intrinsic rewards and challenges. With many prayers covering me the whole time, I did it, I'm DONE, and I'm glad.
