   About Chest Rockwell
"Once again, they record all in just three days. This must be the fastest group in the country at the present time. They assert themselves. They do not lack much left for them to hoist the big one." 3.5/5
--- Jean-Pierre Lhoir (www.musicinbelgium.net) Belgium

"This young and quirky indie band shows a breadth and scope that make them a more than viable hope for the area's rock future. There's a vision here that gives these guys an edge over peers...a wide array of textures and styles. Total Victory is a solid effort... I'll be interested to hear them progress further."
--- Todd Zachritz, News4U (www.news4uonline.com)

"this music deserves to be heard by a wide audience and would be enjoyed by a cross-spectrum of progressive fans... a very classy performance that bears scrutiny against the work of far more exalted peers Rush, Riverside and Dream Theater. A great album and definitely a band to watch: if they can stay together and improve then they will be some force!" 8/10
--- Alex Torres, Dutch Progressive Rock Page (www.dprp.net) Netherlands

"...most certainly a charming aquaintance...frequent changes in intensity, pace and sound. Well worth investigating by the adventurous music fan." 9/10
--- Windhawk (www.progarchives.com) Norway

"...an example of a band that can pave new musical ground... provides a fantastic musical journey for the listener. They manage to create music that should have a large audience because the music is so accessible and melodic without sacrificing the quality."
--- Ulf Backstrøm (www.merlinprog.com) Norway

"Take a hard left into the glorious, quirky, passionate, urgency that defines Chest Rockwell's unique brand of art-rock. These tunes up the ante with even more risk-taking wrapped in lush trappings that will leave progheads beaming. Fervent, fiery inspired works with the perfect blend of Rockwell weirdness. These Kentuckians must have done some serious wood shedding to pull this off."
--- Warren Barker, Progression Magazine 57

"This group has positioned itself in the gray zone between the radio-friendly pop and complex rock, and at their best they are able to create music that both inspires and challenges."
--- Tarkus Magazine 49 (www.tarkus.org) Norway

"Chest Rockwell is and remains a unique company... there is a clear musical affinity."
--- The IO Pages 87 (www.iopages.nl) Netherlands

"Tracks are very varied...An interesting album, though not the easiest to understand." 7/10
--- ironyzator.livejournal Russia

"Chest Rockwell certainly know how to inject musical dynamics and gymnastics into their music and they do it well. Chest Rockwell continues to progress musically and compositionally. The performances sound better, tighter and more assured. If you thought their last release was good wait to till you hear Total Victory."
--- Jerry Lucky, author of The Progressive Rock Files, 20th Century of Rock & Roll: Progressive Rock, The Psychedelic Rock Files (www.jerrylucky.com) Canada

"the band is able to take a variety of musical styles and come up with a record that is truly inventive and imaginative. Though there is a lot of variety and quirkiness displayed here, this is music that could appeal to a large audience if given the chance. It is nice to hear a band not afraid to take chances and push their musical limits while still retaining an accessibility that many fans of melodic music could relate to. Overall, this is a strong effort and one that I recommend wholeheartedly." 4/5
--- Jon Neudorf (www.seaoftranquility.org)

"Chest Rockwell play a progressive rock style of music. Not wanting, though, to have their sound pigeonholed they stretch the style’s edges to make their own signature sound. If you’re willing to get on the band’s musical Total Victory bus you’ll find that there’s a lot of that magic for you to enjoy." 8.9/10
--- CW Ross (Indie Music Stop)

"(Total Victory) resembles Chest Rockwell vs. The World in many ways, but is better in virtually all respects... you owe it to yourself to order this one. These guys should be a lot more well-known. If life was fair, this album would be their breakthru to the big time."
--- Fred Trafton (www.gepr.net)

"...clean, chiming and hungrily searching out a new soundscape...the band is very able in all areas, rhythmically tight, airy, and has a bundle of ideas. A different and very enjoyable band"
--- Derek Walker (Phantom Tollbooth)

"good dose of creativity...Chest Rockwell is certainly a group to follow." 3.5/5
--- Jean-Pierre Lhoir (www.musicinbelgium.net) Belgium

"We find Chest Rockwell - Vs. “The World” utterly fascinating, very fresh and original and with a very nice distinctive stamp, and these qualities are four of the most important things for Merlinprog when we do reviews!"
--- Ulf Backstrøm (www.merlinprog.com) Norway

"Chest Rockwell is a band that is thinking ahead while writing their music. I am very impressed by the song structure and the way everything gels together."
--- Brad Moore (Soul To Strings)

"Here's something with a refreshingly different approach. There's plenty of variation within this framework as moods ebb and flow from soft acoustic interludes to full blown rage and all points in between. The unique twists and turns keep a hammerlock on your attention, making for an adventurous and regrettably short 42 minutes. In summation, Vs. the World is very addictive."
--- Warren Barker, Progression Magazine 52

"Just about the time you think you've got it figured out, it goes off in a different direction... there's just something about this album that keeps you coming back for another listen... this is a highly recommendable album that should have broad appeal to old-school proggers and youngsters looking for something different from the usual fare."
--- Fred Trafton (www.gepr.net)

"They claim they only sound like themselves, which is actually quite true, since I found it particularly tough to find any pointers. The main and distinctive characteristic is that the refrain-based approach to songwriting is cleverly and efficiently avoided. With a better production these guys can produce something really really big. Their creativity and ability to transform swarming ideas into concrete and solid pieces of music is impressive. Bear this name in mind! If you are into experimental music scoring high on creativity you definitely should check this out!" 7.5/10
--- www.dprp.net (Dutch Progressive Rock Pages) Netherlands

"The music chugs along without developing into verse chorus or symphonic structures. This may work to their advantage, and allows the band to meander without being annoying.... well done, but in a slightly crooked, offbeat way. Chest Rockwell vs. The World is a very interesting indie-rock experiment."
--- www.progressiveears.com

"The members of Chest Rockwell have done a very good job of showcasing a truly unique and technically accomplished sound. This band has made a concerted effort to stand out from the rest and establish its own place and musical footing in both style and compositional approach." 8/10
--- TAXI A&R (November 2007)

"All the changes in moods and styles on this album calls for some very structured songwriting to make it work. Fortunately the band are talented in that department; the creativity has been channeled effectively... this is an interesting release for music fans with a broad musical taste; and worth checking out for anyone defining themselves as just that." 8/10
--- Olav Björnsen (www.prog4you.com)

"....these guys have a very unique sound and style. They play well together, shifting gears all the time within their compositions, going fast to slow, loud to soft and changing the mood in a heartbeat. I’d recommend Chest Rockwell to prog fans that are looking for something different that embodies the old and the new. This might be perfect to play to friends unfamiliar with the progressive genre, something to expand their listening palette."
--- Jerry Lucky, author of The Progressive Rock Files, 20th Century of Rock & Roll: Progressive Rock, The Psychedelic Rock Files (www.jerrylucky.com) Canada

"...the album comes across as being indeed in many ways extraordinary. By and large, I find "Chest Rockwell Vs the World" to be a good release, but its overall originality pushed me to add half of a star to its rating. I think this recording was originally contrived to please two different categories of music lovers, and since that design seems to work fairly well, the band may indeed kill two birds with one stone, potentially." 5.5/6
--- Progressor (www.progressor.net) Uzbekistan

"...the variation in the musical expression is large - even within each track. An album full of dynamics and energy... Recommended to those of you who feel like exploring some new territory."
--- Tarkus Magazine 42 (www.tarkus.org) Norway

"...music that provides enough curveballs to break the standard hack and grind rock foundations many groups in these genres exhibit. Chest Rockwell has captivated some folks in the prog genre with their willingness to go outside their post/punk, garage rock sound, by adding some changes in meter, tempo and mood."
--- www.proggnosis.com

"...the CD feels like a concept album... this is an album for the prog..."
--- The IO Pages 75 (www.iopages.nl) Netherlands

"Chest Rockwell vs. The World is a musical journey between genres. Acoustic, dreamy pieces flow smoothly into thrasher, head-banging music. This group works well together..."
--- Kimmi Rudolph (www.bitchinentertainment.com)

"Chest Rockwell Vs The World is a blast of fresh indie-rock wonderment full of interesting twists and turns...an engaging listen...succeeds in creating something unique..."
--- Barry Nothstine, Soul Frequency Radio (www.soulfrequency.com)

"...this is one of the more original independent rock albums that I have heard in a long time, and highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for something that takes a step outside of the box." 9/10
--- Michael Grillo (www.indiemusicstop.com)

"It's nice to see that there are still indie bands that are pushing the envelope."
--- Pete Pardo (www.seaoftranquility.org)

"The musicianship is solid, tight and fitting and the production sounds good... an interesting ride." 8/10
--- TAXI A&R (March 2007)

"...a climax, a turning point, energy, dynamics..."
--- Tyra D. Buburuz, CEO IMG Music Promotions Inc.

"...definitely doing something different."
--- Don Thomason (The Amplifier Magazine)

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.

Here are some things you can do:

Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.

Publish artist interviews in English to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazineInterviewsEnglish , interviews in French to http://groups.myspace.com/InterviewsAvecCountryMusicStars and interviews in German to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryMusikInterviews . All these groups on MySpace are part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine.

Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for.

Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.

If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
