is an aspiring Pop singer, songwriter, record producer, and full-figured model. She is the only child born to the parents Dr. McChesney G. Emanuel, Consul General of Antigua & Barbuda and Minister Renee L. Emanuel, who currently serves at the Greater Hood Memorial A.M.E Zion Church. She was born on December 15 in a town called Harlem in New York City. “It was not meant for me to experience a lot of exposure and to enter the business [entertainment] so early. I had a childhood that I’ll never regret…,” the pop singer says. ChesZerae was always studious, meticulous, sociable, and a beaming light throughout her childhood. In 1988, she was nominated as gifted child achiever. From 1994-1997, she was granted the opportunity to annually join The YMCA Black Achievers Program which features established African-American figures and motivational speakers such as Les Brown. Throughout her elementary schooling between grades 1-8, ChesZerae was awarded over 40 achievement certificates in core subjects including Arts & Crafts. She also received recognition for representing Resurrection Roman Catholic School in the New York City National Spelling Bee in the years 1997 and 1998. By the end of 1998, the Studio Museum of Harlem located on West 125th Street, featured a pastel portrait of her in the series “Artists in Residence Exhibition” created by renowned artist, Brett Cook-Dizney. By the age of 15, she acted as a role model and community outreach teen with Harlem Hospital’s Harlem Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Initiative Program (The H.A.P.P.I Program). While teaming with H.A.P.P.I, she was the editor and creator of “Ask Ches,” a section where teens will ask any questions about any topic of their choice.
Since 2000, ChesZerae has explored her passion of singing beginning with the choirs she joined throughout high school and college. She then attended The City University of New York- Lehman College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science in 2007. With hard work, she closed her final school year with a 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale. She was also listed in Who’s Who in America. With enough confidence under her belt, she decided to chase after the dream she really wants: becoming an influential singer, producer and mentor to the youth. This blessed young lady is on the road to success. Although this songstress has a strong zeal for music, she also continues to orchestrate methods in improving the community. From 1999- present, she dedicates her political views and community support by volunteering at the Assemblyman Herman D. Farrell, Jr. Office in Harlem. Often known as Miss Harlem Brown EyesZ, ChesZerae is proficient in many styles, including classical, jazz, R&B, pop and rock. Her main influences include those of: Sade, Mary J. Blige, Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Brandy and Gwen Guthrie. She brings a big smile and fun to each performance. A determined sophisticate with a versatile talent, ChesZerae creates inventive arrangements that give old standards a make-over for today. As an inspirational artist making music from home, the melodic songbird is also accomplished in plus-sized modeling exposure and is currently working on becoming a producer as of 2009. She is very familiar with the need of change for new music today. Her music is not only in rotation on various on-line radio stations, but is in rotation in Brussels, Belgium as well. As a firm believer in God, she remains authentic to fulfill and reinforce her spiritual background as a Christian before making any decisions. She is blessed with unique talent and character.
"I don't wish to mimic anyone else; for I love how God chose to create me. My book [life] will touch by the masses." ChesZerae.
With a great amount of buzz status, she is doing a superb job marketing her skills and more importantly her image. With God’s Hand and your support, ChesZerae’s image is going to impact the industry hard!
