Everything from The Buggles straight through to Cannibal Corpse.
Sounds Like
Sounds like a strongest Ant competition where one of the Ants, single handedly picks up a dead Squirrel and tosses it 7 Metres towards the Potting Shed, easily breaking the new world record.
And a bit like the Pixies, Dead Kennedy's, Talking Heads, Motley Crue, Placebo and Men Without Hats on a very happy pill. You know....the ones that make you shit blood the next day.
Add to My Profile | More VideosChet were built from old candle sticks and bits of car engines combined with an unforgettably high degree of addictive melody. The twin tuned exhaust of the vocals combined with the over the top melody of the synthometre located just above the bass sprocket under the bonnet to the left is what makes Chet such a renowned and popular choice of machine.
Consisting of four players, Rhian (bass bombastics), Misery Gus (Thumping beat coordinator and one part of twin exhaust vocals), Babbsy (main segment of twin vocals and string wirings of distortion) and Batt Burton (keys modulator of the extraordinary), this finely tuned machine can really go some on the open road of rock!
First designed in September 2002, this baby was the blue print of babbsys plan to make radio and other areas of the musical media exciting again. "There's nothing wrong with pop music." He said, "Nothing at all. It's just that it's dog shit nowadays, and full of burgers and soft drink whores with no tunes"
So inviting Rhian, and Batt to London to take up the job as bassist and synth melody he started work on the dream machine that would be called Chet.
Misery came on board this project at a later date. Which soon changed the acceleration of the band From 0 to 1000 in 0.2 of a second as a matter of fact. Fact, being an argument. But then, mindless twaddle is undisputable. Unless you're bored. Or stoned.
Anyway.back to Chet. Influenced by such bands as The Pixies,Men At Work,Pavement,The Beatles,Sparkle Horse,The Cars,Scarfo,The Wannadies,The Cardiacs,Fear Factory,Violent Femmes,Venom and Marillion to mention but a few Chet set about test running the machine in front of public eyes.
XFM noticed the sprightly appeal of this awesome tank of power and, in 2003, Chet became a runner up in the XFM unsigned competition beating almost 1000 bands from all over Europe to the final 32. This was the first stepping stone of an already well built vehicle of monstrous proportions guiding it's way up the ladder of greatness.
Since this, Chet have been turning heads on the live circuit, building its polished reputation as one of London's "more different and interesting" bands becoming a firm favourite with real music fans. You know.the people that like a real tune served with a punch. Not a saucer of out of date milk.
Chet comes with four doors and reclining seats for ultimate music approval when listening. The gears are automatic so you can just kick off and enjoy. does not come with spoiler although free visor shades in glove compartment and lot's of silly hats and toys.

Needleandthread presents... {yet another} dirty great big night out.. 19 Oct 2007 the JAMM, 261 brixton road, London, sw9 UK Cost:£6/£5, or £4 before nine.. BARGAIN!!
Room One.. Cyan341 - Tonight we are lucky to have Rednetic label boss Mark Streatfield perform his more techno based material - deep, soulful, and groove ridden, but with all the electronic frills we’ve come to expect from him. eN - atmospheric breaks and harsh edited jungle rhythms with washed out synthetic soundscapes to create bass heavy dancefloor killers. rANdOMoiDz - Dirty shuffling beats chop and change between techno rhythms and wonky breaks, and are guaranteed to make you move. Alt*Ctrl djs - these DJs have played alongside the biggest names in electro and know exactly how to rock a dancefloor. Patscan - combines complex rythyms and sweet melodies with a definite dancefloor focus. Uncle Smutfist - an utterly unique frenzied but playful sound that dances between distorted dubstep and battered breaks. between the rooms, we have live performance pieces from The Great Antagonist, and guests..
Room Two.. ZeJ - combining live electronic drums and bass with effervescent synthesis and live gadgetry, provides an experience impossible to ignore. Red - brixton based multi-vocalist, building his tongue twisting rhythyms into live loops, then turntable-ising the results.. King Porter Stomp - a dub - ska juggernaut of rhyme and funk on a mission to entertain, enliven and enlighten. an unstoppable octet of big horns, fat beats, heavy bass. Bogus Gasman - anarchic dub-core.. punk-laced reggae.. what they lack in covers, they make up for in brass, fat old basslines, and guitars that go chk chk chk chk.. Bunty - one mouth, one mic, one loop station, one delay pedal.. one hell of a show.. dj’s include Mr Hovis, Dj Dark.. should be a bloody good one!

Along with FMB is the electricfying duo from Exeter, Le Chat Noir, awesome!

Hey Chet... Just wanted to let you guys know what an amazing gig you played on Saturday. Chet was very much on fire! It was an emotional night for me and many - with such a high during your set - followed by a real sadness - god knows what it must have been like for you guys. One thing is true - endings can unleash new energies and creativities and I look forward to those. You have been, and remain, an inspiration. Lots of love Chris x
