Proceeds from the CD Benefit the Red Cross, Southeast Mississippi Chapter
Hurricane Katrina
August 29, 2005
There was an eerie calm after the storm and as I looked around the neighborhood that I had known all my life, I realized that hurricane Katrina had erased it... our home, our neighborhood, our town. The history told by the antebellum homes, small towns, and businesses for over 100 miles was gone but not the spirit of the people. That is what inspired me to make this CD and donate the proceeds to the Southeast Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross. - Chet Lott
CHET LOTT
Singer - Songwriter - Recording Artist
His Past…
At the moment Chet Lott picked up his first guitar as a child in Mississippi, playing music became a monumental part of his life. Growing up in an area with such a rich musical heritage, it’s no surprise that he would aspire to sing and write the music he loved. It was just something that came natural; an expression of who he was and where he was from. By the time he got to college he was performing all across his native Mississippi, as well as parts of Tennessee and even as far north as Washington, DC.
His Present…
Chet Lott has achieved a wide range of experience in the music industry. From live performances to studio sessions; he has done it all. He’s shared the stage with many well known entertainers including Rickie Lee Jones, Taj Mahal, Larry Gatlin, John Michael Montgomery, Guy Hovis, Troy Gentry, The Oak Ridge Boys and Exile. His studio work includes his recently released independent debut album, “Erased It”, produced by his mentor and award winning singer/songwriter JP Pennington.
His Music…
Chet Lott has created a unique musical style all his own with his blues infused Mississippi style country. It’s fresh and edgy, emotional and pure. It’s honest and inviting. It’s country with the salty flavor of the delta blues. His CD includes songs that celebrate his Mississippi heritage with titles such as "Welcome to Mississippi", "Nachez Girl", "Where Am I From", and a soulfully breezy cover of Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey". Chet Lott’s signature style has captured the interest of listeners nationally, as well as internationally. His music is featured daily on syndicated radio statewide in Mississippi and can also be heard on numerous other stations in the U.S., France and Poland. His original song “Where Am I From” is featured on a compilation CD with global distribution to over 1500 radio stations throughout North America, Europe and New Zealand.
His Future…
Chet Lott will continue to write, sing and record the music that is so much a part of him. And he will always share it with those who want to listen. Making music is second nature to him. It’s just what he does. It’s just what he is.

First and foremost, we are very sorry to hear about the many scams going around that are causing skepticism among many and causing organizations like ours to meet great resistance in the good we are trying to do. Therefore, we encourage all to visit our YouTube channel or at our web site and allow our past works to speak on our behalf and give us credibility.
That being said, some of you may have noticed the change in the "Music That Matters: Kentucky" project regarding the addition of Virginia and West Virginia. The reason behind this is simply that interest is increasing faster than we are able to produce each statewide album. Now that "Music That Matters: New England" has been released, we've been inundated with responses and questions from artists/bands from multiple states asking how they, too, can be a part of this.
Therefore, we've decided to start doing three states per compilation. This change comes with many benefits to the artist, as well, specifically offering them a broader range of listeners and potential fans now spreading across THREE STATES now, instead of just their home state.
We are very excited about this change and the outrageously positive responses we've been receiving. "Music That Matters: Kentucky/Virginia/West Virginia" is coming along nicely, so be on th
Kentucky Artists come together!!!!!!! “Music That Matters: Kentucky” is off to a powerful start!
Just one week after contacting artists/bands with an invitation to take part in this unique CD compilation, we’ve already filled 6 out of the 25 artist slots! With this kind of response in a single week, we are confident that it will take little time to fill the remaining 19 availabilities.
It is our honor to welcome the following artists to “Music that Matters: Kentucky”:
- CALVIN RAY - SHANE DEVON - ALLISON STAFFORD - LISA LALLY - KEVIN WILSON - KACI BOLLS
Many thanks to these astoundingly talented artists for being among the first Kentuckians to join Taylor Swift, Kevin Sharp, Linda Davis, Jimmy Fortune (Statler Brothers), Bryan White, John Berry, and many more in “artist unity”. We look forward to adding to our cast of talent and working together to generate larger fan bases and product sales for ALL artists involved…all while making MUSIC THAT MATTERS.
Hey Chet, it's been a while and it's great to see you are still jammin'. I've only heard a couple of your songs (and will delve deeper soon) and you sound great, very nice voice and writing and overall sound, and I see you have jammed with many luminaries too. Way to go man. We should trade cd's sometime if you're into it.
Me and my band will be back at Players Club, in Richmond, next Friday and Saturday night, November 14 and 15.... Show time is 9pm both nights... I hope you will come!!!
Thanks for adding me! I am a songwriter and the songs on my page are songs that I have written or co-written that I/we are shopping to country singers who are looking for fresh songs for their next CD. I recently put up a new track called ‘Country Kisses’. So if you, or someone you know may be interested in recording any of the songs on my page, please contact me to discuss!
