THE CHET OKEEFE BAND has been described by the Daily Hampshire Gazette as "Captivating Enchanting a master of the story song Chet has the ability to bring you into his world from the first word, the first note."
For years Chet played the blues, backing Bo Diddley, and opening for the likes of Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band, Magic Sam, and many others.
After years of playing and living the blues, Chet turned his attention to song writing, and re-emerged to win an East Coast song writing contest sponsored by (one of Rolling Stones voted top-10 best radio stations) WRSI (Northampton MA), and Martin guitars.
This prompted Chet to move to Nashville where he has been playing and writing for the last three and a half years. Chet continues to impress the Nashville throng of writers and players with his singing, songwriting and guitar sensibility, playing frequently around town.
The Band As We Know It
It's from these Nashville writers nights and solo gigs that The Chet OKeefe Band took form: a duo became a trio, a trio soon became a quartet, and so on, until the current four person line-up emerged, featuring veteran Nashville pickers on mandolin, bass, percussion, banjo, squeeze-box, vocals and guitars.
The band's musical style could be described as a blend of Americana, country blues, jam rock, and Appalachian mountain music.
The band continues to gain momentum and a fan base in the South East and Midwest. We are focusing on Festivals and out of town appearances this year. A new album is in the works, featuring guest appearances by some of Nashville's finest. We look forward to meeting you and sharing the music.

Hey Bunny Lovers!
Those rabbit vendors love Easter time...
Selling rabbits that have been caged since birth to a family that has no idea of the commitment necessary when having a bunny rabbit as a "family member". The rabbit gets tossed outside a few months after the novelty of the "Easter Bunny" is gone. First time in the wild, never had to fend for itself....
Have sympathy for the Easter Bunnies! Easter Bunnies don't necessarily make good pets!

Hey Chet and the gang, Im playing this Saturday at the Douglas with Richard Stooksbury if you want to come down and check out the material we've been working on. I think it starts around 8 or 9. Hope all is well in CO-OP'ville.
I hope that you have enjoyed the weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. And I hope especially that you are enjoying this very moment in time!
Would you do me a great favour, please? I'm trying to get some of my music recognised a bit more on the internet. Could you please go to www.ourstage.com and search for Tangent Man. Then please play ‘A Most Extraordinary Dream’ as many times as you want! This should help the song rise up the respective chart! If you open it up with the play arrow, the song should repeat play - so you can turn off the sound and minimise it and you won't even have to put up with my voice! Thanks.
Thanks, Chet, for coming out to Tucker Bradley's House Party!! Bummer that you couldn't stay longer!! We all really ENJOYED your set!! I didn't get a chance to talk to you about the "cosmic" connection to 706 W. Mary....Talk to you again real soon!!!
