Well, The Chavis Family & the 4th Generation introduced me to God that begot gospel that begot the concept of harmony...beget-begot-blah blah blah..lol. In addition to that, 'Ma' and Daddy played every song on earrrrth...VERY LOUDDD may I add... making sure I heard every note, lyric and instrument ...every time....every night and then came the marathon on Saturdays..volume at 20!!!! They got 'caught up' everytime and still do!

As you can 'hear' by the rough drafts, I'm stillll in the lab..Lawd have mercyyy! :-) Nevertheless, here we go....I, Chevis(sh'vees), aka *CHEVY*-singer/songwriter, out of Norfolk, Virginia, began performing with my family's gospel group-The Chavis Family- at age 6. Writing and arranging talents surfaced at age 9, as I produced and arranged my first original gospel song complete with 4-part harmonies for a local choir. FAST FOWARD---> Governors Magnet School for the Arts-->Virginia's top live band circuit----> relocated to New York ---> months later recorded with Jennifer Lopez(On The 6), Marc Anthony(Marc Anthony), Jessica Simpson(Sweet Kisses), Chico DeBarge(The Game), and Kenny Lattimore(From the Soul of A Man)--> would later provide vocal support on tour for platinum selling artists such as Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, P. Diddy, Carl Thomas, and Toshi to name a few. At the present, I, Chevy(lol), continue to perform with various artists while also brewing my own pot of rock, funk & a bunch of other stuff that does the body good... hungry? hope so....
