10am-11am-yoga fostering a women positive atmosphere, open to all.
11am-11:30am-sound 101 with angel
11:30am-12:15pm-herbs and women’s mental and reproductive health with maria and sarah jean
-Covering herbal treatments for yeast infections, menstrual cramps, urinary tract infections, sleep problems, stress, and depression. We'll also have fun with Kegel exercises and tasting herbal teas and tinctures.
12:15pm-1:30pm-discussion on homophobia, transphobia, sexism and racism in punk scenes, facilitated by maria and sonia (this will be a facilitated discussion with space for everyone to speak)
1:30pm-2:15pm-diy women’s health: radical menstruation with pomegranate radical health collective, breast/cervical self-exams, safe sex.
- Allison and Lindsay from the Pomegranate Radical Health Collective will cover social views on menstruation, various health and environmental effects of mainstream menstrual products, as well as discussing the pros and cons of various alternative menstrual products. Chicago ClitFest members will demonstrate and discuss breast and cervical self-exams (this portion will be open only to individuals with a cervix) and facilitate discussion about safer sex techniques and products.
2:15pm-3pm-radical parenting with Jessica Mills
-Jessica Mills, author of "My Mother Wears Combat Boots", AK Press, 2007, will lead a discussion and presentation/talk and will read selected passages from her book.
3pm-4pm-know your rights! immigraton workshop with anita from sin fronteras..

Chicago CLITFEST is a non-profit, community based, women-centered DIY punk fest. It will be a weekend of music, workshops and discussions celebrating women in the punk community and addressing the strengths, and the potential, of our Chicago scene.
Even though there is no particular doctrine or set of rules surrounding punk culture, we all have progressive views that actively combat sexism, racism, homophobia, and discrimination of any kind. We also believe that women have much to contribute to issues outside those deemed "women's issues", and that, on the flipside, everyone is affected by those under that classification.
WORKSHOPS: We will be facilitating workshops with topics such as self-defense, sexuality, women's health care, as well as Chicago community issues such gentrification & punk, racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia.
We will also include workshops that help to further women's interest in music and musicianship (basic music equipment/live sound, etc.).
WHO WE ARE: The mix of individuals involved in this project are diverse in age, orientation, and culture, and this fest will stay true to the diversity that the women in the Chicago punk community have to offer. Although the root of this event is activist and feminist, the terminology falls short; we are all activists and feminists, but we are also a part of the larger community of Chicago.
Inequality affects everyone and we hope that CLITFEST will be a reminder that everyone must participate and work together to create solutions.
