Community Service
Charitable public service projects are a primary focus of the Chicago Jaycees. The Chicago Jaycees support several monthly and quarterly on-going projects that benefit children, the homeless, the elderly, and other needy groups. We also hold large scale events such as Rudolph School (share the December holiday spirit with 100 disadvantaged school children). There are many more projects, all of which offer members leadership development opportunities when they serve as chairs or sub-chairs of the project.

Individual Development
ID projects focus on building and enhancing Jaycees members' professional and personal skills so they may become leaders within their community. Examples include leadership training, negotiation skills, public speaking, goal setting, crime prevention, and art/architecture tours.
Membership Events
These projects bring the organization together each month in an informal setting to motivate and activate members. Sail away on a boat cruise, practice your golf swing, attend a baseball game — and just have fun meeting other Jaycees!
Ways & Means
These projects raise money for the chapter and for the Chicago Jaycees Foundation, which provides funding for our community projects. Two of our annual fundraisers are Charity Night and Entertainment Book sales.
How to Join/What Does It Cost?
Our annual dues are $65.
While we don't require any additional funds, some of our social and individual development events have charges to recover the cost of food, materials, speaker fees, or other project expenses.

Membership
Our members come from various professions, diverse backgrounds and many neighborhoods in and around Chicago. Many of our members are supported by one of our three corporate sponsors: the American Medical Association (AMA), The Northern Trust Company, and People Gas. We also have many members who join directly; they are part of our largest group, the Independents.
As a member of the Chicago Jaycees, you can participate in the many community service, individual development, fundraising, and social activities held throughout the year. In just a few hours a month, you can make a difference in your community, meet new people, learn new skills, build a network of professional contacts and just have fun! Our more active members improve their leadership, organizational, communication, and planning skills by serving as a project chair or sub-chair or by serving on our Board of Directors.

Mention that you are there for the Chicago Jaycees party and pick your poison! $5 gets you free domestic drafts from 6:30-8:30 or $15 gets you all drafts and half priced shots from 6:30-9:30! All proceeds go to help out our group volunteering in New Orleans this spring!!
