CHICAGO TRIBUNE REVIEW (7/28/06) Owner Scott Neasham says his Boystown men's hair salon is a "modernized version of what our dads and grandpas went to." Translated: The astringent stink of Barbasol takes a back seat to the pleasant fragrance of moisturizers and energizing eye treatments.
We're also pretty certain Grandpa's corner clip joint never gave him a thong wax. Here, manscaping is an artform: From legs to chest to Speedo lines, this shop boasts that "If you can grow it, we can wax it or trim it." It also carries an impressive lineup of high-end shampoos, moisturizers and even man makeup, er, we mean "shine reduction powder."
BOI MAGAZINE REVIEW (3/12/06) Another Boystown Blossom is "Chicago Male", located at 3418 N. Halsted St. Chicago Male is a "guy thing". A full service salon for men featuring men's facials, hair cuts, color and highlights, camouflage (which is getting rid of the grey) and body waxing services. Scott, the owner of the salon, is a great guy and his friendly staff will make you feel right at home. Take some time and pamper yourself.
Chicago Male is open Monday through Friday 10am to 10pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm, and Sunday noon to 6pm.

CHICAGO YELP REVIEW (4/26/07) I was there about a month ago . . . Chicago Male is a great concept. The interior is top notch with tasteful dark-wood furniture - think trendy/sophisticated barber shop. The fireplace and cushy couches were great. Ample newspapers to look over while you wait - and the offer of free coffee is hard to beat. They've added some stylists since I've been there last, so business must be going well. They take appointments and have great hours . . . open till 10pm through the week!

The young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside. "That laundry is not very clean", she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap."
