Did you know the Red Cross is right here in your backyard? We sure are! The American Red Cross of Greater Chicago is part of a nationwide network of 800 chapters. People all around the world look to the Red Cross for help during times of disaster. Here in Chicagoland, we have more than 1,200 volunteers and 100 paid staff, making us the nation’s second largest chapter. When your neighbors' house catches fire, we come out to make sure they're ok. Teaching swim classes, CPR and disaster preparedness, we're out in the community getting you ready for the unexpected. We're a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, and we want you to help us out!

Hi! How are things going in Illinois? I met someone from Illinois at a writing conference I attended last weekend. He said he work for a Southern Illinois electic cooperative and had worked with the Chapter there several times. It really is a small world! :-)
