Hello Darlings...
I'm Chi Chi and welcome to my word parlor where writers read marvelous stories and musicians play spectacular music. A few brave souls show off their improvisational skills by taking audience suggestions and writing a story on the spot. And then of course, there is an after party with wine and cheese. It's brilliant, darlings, absolutely brilliant!
You must be a part of it! The show runs once every 3 months and I must see your beautiful faces in the audience and on the stage. I won't take no for an answer.
And email me at chichiswordparlor@mac.com to get your name on the list for the next show:.
See you soon sexy darlings...

FOR WRITERS
Submission guidelines for stories and poems are:
- 3 pages double spaced (not longer) emailed as a word attachment to chichiswordparlor@mac.com
- Submit a maximum of 2 pieces per theme
- Put the title of your piece, your name, email and contact number on your submission
- Submissions for the next Chi Chi’s should fall into the theme, “Hot” and should be submitted by midnight, May 21st
-Please be aware that we have an editing team that will often provide suggestions for cuts or changes to your piece in order to enhance your story for the show. You, as the writer will always have final say on any requested changes.
- We don’t typically book the same writer two shows in a row, but you are welcome to submit as there are always exceptions to this rule.
FOR IMPROV WRITERS
Lockdown is the improvisational writing portion of our show. If you are not comfortable with “on the spot” writing, this style is not for you. To be considered for Lockdown:
- Please email 1 dynamic piece no longer than 3 pages double spaced as a writing sample as a word attachment to chichiswordparlor@mac.com
- Put your name, email and contact number on your submission
- Tell us in a couple of sentences about your impromptu writing or improvisational experience. If you are new to improvisation writing or performance, please tell us why you’d be a good choice for lockdown.
FOR MUSICIANS
The musicians for each show will play two songs: one in the middle of the show and one at the end. There will be an opportunity to promote any upcoming shows as well as sell CD’s at the after party. To be considered for the musical portion of Chi Chi’s:
- Please provide a website, myspace link or MP3 sample with at least two songs. If you need to mail us a CD, please email us for further information
- All music must be acoustic as there is no amplification in the theatre
- Submit at chichiswordparlor@mac.com
FOR VOLUNTEERS
