Chick Ciccarelli is an art director and has been an advertising executive (for over 30 years). However, in his early days, Chick was a lead vocalist in several rock bands and never lost his love of music and writing. In 1993, he wrote "Secret Identity", The Rock Musical. This endeavor took about 1 1/2 years to complete.
The musical began as a stageplay written by Chick Ciccarelli. The 16 songs related to the play were written by Chick Ciccarelli and Jason Peri.
The stageplay was later transformed into a screenplay and then an online novel. While the musical has been around for a number of years, it has yet to be actually produced on-stage or on-screen, mainly because Chick moved on to different areas of his career and shelved the project.
Recently, several of the songs were dusted off and submitted to the American Idol Songwriter contest in 2006. The main, featured song is called "The Rainbow's End" which is about a homeless girl trying to find her way in life.
