.. One night in Birmingham, ....DJ Potbelly....'s bedroom became more than just a stinking pit, traditionally feared by women and men alike. ....MC Mallard Marquis.... dared make the journey upstairs from the living room haze. Seeing Potbelly trying to make some puerile songs, so he contributed a few power chords and a missing bass guitar harmony and, lo, Chicksdigchoons was inflicted upon all and sundry. ....DJ Mouse.... heard the commotion and found a space in the corner. Yes, he really can scratch a beat "even with his nose". Everything got very silly and within a few months, the Chicksdigchoons LP was born..... Of course, there is more to Chicksdigchoons than intricate songwriting (ahem). It was our mission to offend as many people as possible, so a live band was formed with the addition of ..Jodie.. on the five-string bass, ....Neil.. ..on the drums and the legendary ....Sebby Zatopek.... on punk-ass rhythm guitar. The live band played some album material, along with covers of Beach Boys, Sublime and, on occasion, Soundgarden. The biggest shock was when people actually liked us and we won a crate of beer in a Battle of the Bands competition..... Eventually we grew up, moved away and got jobs. But, that doesn't mean to say the spirit of Chicksdigchoons is dead, oh no. There are always plans afoot to ressurrect the beast and give it the old heave-ho, as inspired by ..The Necrophiliac... What, with technology like MySpace and Ableton Live out there, watch this space...
