When Phillipa and Ellie first started writing together they realised they were on to a good thing! Both girls already had a lot of experience in the music industry touring, recording & performing, but decided their real passion was for song-writing.
By combining Phillipas vocal talents, Ellies instrumental skills and their shared determination & humour, they formed Chicks With Hits.
Phillipa's voice can be heard on many of the CHICKS WITH HITS tracks and her other singing/writing credits include work with Lo Fidelity Allstars, Indian Ropeman, Modaji, Blackgrass and Hardkandy to name but a few. She is also a professional voice-over artist (PS2, Sibelius, Eyetoy, etc and most recently CBBC's Mama Mirabelle).
Ellie spent five years touring in Britain and the USA as a violin and keyboard player with a signed band and has appeared on TV shows including 'Top of the Pops', the Chart Show' and 'BBCTV awards' as a session player. (Nevins-Kelly Clarkson remix, The88, the Stereo MC's, Chungking, THe Mummers, Sideshow, DJ Format etc)
The girls have been working together for 4 years building a catalogue of songs in varied styles from catchy pop to emotional ballads to cool electronica. Their songs have been recorded by the following European artists: Elektra, Hadise, Katerine, Natalia, Priscilla, Eve Kempbell, Hind, Safiye & Francisca London. Their tracks have been placed in the following TV shows: 'Grey's Anatomy', 'Desperate Housewives', 'One Tree hill', 'South of Nowhere', 'MTVScore', 'Pepper Dennis' & 'Men in Trees'. They collaborate and co-write with a number of talented & established producers and writing teams including :
