Music Let's just say I have a wicked eclectic taste in different genres of music. Not all are listed below but if you listen to my playlists I've put together on PROJECT PLAYLIST now known as just PLAYLIST. Just go to Playlist dot com slash chickylala FOR BETTER MUSIC & KEWL TUNAGE! I had to spell it out because myspace is being wankers about my direct link! Or by clicking the LINK to my webpage MISFIT HAIR,
www.misfithair.com
you'll get a smattering of what I'm into. Mind you, that just begins to scratch the surface!

I totally dig Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, RUSH, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa the Rolling Stones, Cary Brothers, Kate Vogel, Ingrid Michaelson, Graham Parson, Dwight Yokem, Jace Everett, Tenacious D, CAKE, Billy Redfield, Bitter:Sweet, The Fray, Queens of the Stone Age, Cowboy Mouth, SCOTS (Southern Culture On The Skids), G Love & Special Sauce, Smashing Pumpkins, Oingo Boingo, The Talking Heads, Julian Lennon, Sean Lennon, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Bjork, The Sugar Cubes, The Hoodoo Guru's, Don Ho's (Tiny Bubbles)-(RIP), Wayne Newton, Tom Jones, Graham Parsons, Eric Burden/War, The Kinks, The Animals, Sting, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughn, U-2, ColdPlay, Queen, David Bowie, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Neil Diamond, Velvet Revolver, Beastie Boys, the Ramones, the Misfits, the Pretenders, Etta James, Corine Bailey Rae, Dido, Annie Leonnox, Chris Issak, Billie Holliday, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Mel Torme, Meat Loaf, Gershwin, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, the Doors, Metallica, DIO, Steely Dan, AC/DC, Luscious Jackson (Why did those chics split up?!?! They rocked!) Kings of Leon, Jeff Buckley & Minnie Riperton (RIP), Jack Johnson, Green Day, Jay-Z, the Fugees, Fergrie and most other genres of music EXCEPT country. I deplore the twang and would rather jab out my eye with a cocktail fork than listen to that shite! The only exceptions to that comment are Patsy Kline...her voice is haunting and bittersweet sublime and Johnny Cash - the man wore his black rather well indeed! Willie Nelson doesn't suck either, so he's ok. And some Rockabilly or Cowboy western music like Hank Williams Sr. ain't bad. But I'm not one who subscribes to that style normally. I'm more of a rock n roll rebel without a cause.

"Ride" - Cary Brothers lyrics: You are everything I wanted The scars of all I'll ever know If I told you you were right Would you take my hand tonight? If I told you you were right Would you leave your life and ride? And ride... You saw all my pieces broken This darkness that I could never show If I told you you were right Would you take my hand tonight? If I told you you were right Would you leave your life and ride? And ride...

I love TOPSY TURVY, Jane Erye, Vanity Fair, Infamous, The Age of Innocense and most period films. Memoirs of a Geisha, Pulp Fiction, The Boondock Saints, Inglorious Basterds, Julie & Julia, Pecker, The Haunting and other epics I can't get enough of!!! Also, I adore old black and white classics and musicals too! Most anything Christopher Walken does blows my mind....he's one twisted ticket/actor! Gary Oldman is another artist I've always admired as is John Cusack & Johnny Depp - they're just too dreamy, funny yet intense. But it's actors like Robert Dinero that just makes my jaw drop. No matter what he does, I am just amazed and always able to have poignent conversations about those films and the characters! Women who I admire in the industry range from Sandy Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jodie Foster, Holly Hunter & Lili Taylor. Those gals are MODERN pioneers in their own respects. Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren and so many others I'm completely humbled when watching any of their films. Those women had such a WOW factor going on and are the higher standard I feel these new actors should aspire to achieve and embrace. There are soooo many more films to mention I can't even begin the list! So I'll just wrap up this diatribe on the faves since they're numerous and endless! However, I must mention that MOONSTRUCK is one of my all time faves!!! That film reminds me of my family in a nutty way! My Polish Aunt Tessy married an American-Austrian/Sicillian Italian Gentleman, my Uncle Bob and they say life imitates art and art imitates life...one is the other yet the same! Well it certainly is in my family! Can you say movie of the week waiting to happen?! Ok I have to mention that I LOVE the film Napoleon Dynamite. That scene where Uncle Rico pegs Napoleon riding Pedro's bike with Pedro with Kip's steak KILLS ME! Ok maybe it's only funny to me, but I love this scene! Enjoy & Chuckle it up!
Television ..
Online Videos by Veoh.com One cannot posses enough TIVO's, DVR's or even the good ole' VCR's!!!! Yeah, I'm still running 3 of those bad buddies when necessary; plus I have a load of VCR/VHS tapes in my collection! MUST SEE TV!!! Trailer Park Boys (AWESOME Canadian BBC show now over but still AWESOME!!!), Tru Blood, Nurse Jackie, Mad Men, Dirty Jobs w/Mike Rowe on Discovery, Lie To Me, Breaking Bad, Nip/Tuck (RIP last season), Rescue Me, The Riches (RIP FX killed you), Damages, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia on F/X, Deadwood (Damn You HBO for not putting closure on that stellar show! As 'Al' would say, "You Fuckin Cocksuckers!"), Entourage, Big Love, WEEDS, Diary of a Call Girl, The United States of Tara, Californication, Chocolate News (will it return???), Dexter, Kathy Griffin - My Life On The "D" List, Mind of Mencia (RIP why????) & RENO 911, My Boys, Family Guy, King of The Hill (RIP damn you Fox!!!), The Simpson's, Southpark, Conan O'Brien (RIP as of 2/20/09 this sux! & So does Jimmy Fallon late nite!), Medium, SNL (SUX BIGTIME THIS past 2007/2008 SEASON! 2009 is Eh? Yet I still watch like the masochist I am!), 30 Rock (TINA FEY is a GENIUS!), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (RIP no more le sigh...), Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies & Dirty Sexy Money (RIP ABC YOU SUCK!), Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Desparate Housewives, Army Wives, State of Mind & Side of Life (RIP), Kyle XY (RIP the series ended damnit!), Hero's, Brother's & Sisters; Starter Wife, Everybody Hate's Chris, Alien's in America & Reaper (RIP), Smallville, Supernatural, One Tree Hill, Lost, Bones, Fringe, House, My Name Is Earl, The Office, ER (it's been a nice long ride watching all the shows over the years, I'll miss your comforting story lines Thursday evenings), NCIS, 60 Minutes, Cold Case, Without A Trace (I'll not understand why CBS sacked this great show, I'll miss seeing all those 'non Americans' portray New Yorkers/Feds), In Plain Site is AWESOME, Life, Lipstick Jungle & My Own Worst Enemy (RIP - damn you NBC for cancelling these stellar shows!), The Son's of Anarchy, Priviledged, Boston Legal (RIP, no more "mad penis" le sigh...), ALL the Law and Orders & ALL the CSI's and many other shows I record, watch and fast forward thru! I'm not big into reality tv...that is just a waste of good tape/Tivo/DVR space except for Kathy Griffin, The Dog Whisperer, Ceasar Milan is a G_D SEND! I also enjoy Split Ends, Sheer Genius & Tabitha's Salon Takeover & Project Runway on Bravo! In a nutshell, I don't particularly care for reality TV, but I do watch a tad bit from time to time for a personal self esteem boost or entertainment factor. Living With Ed on the Eco Channel, The Food Network & The Travel Channel shows like Anthony Bourdain & Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmerman are pretty darn kewl to check out! Clean House on the Style Network doesn't suck either - Mark Brunetz is quite talented and good at what he does for sure! And that Niecey Nash is too funny (I love her character on RENO 911 too!). Oh and if you have access to VOD (Video On Demand, the OXYGEN Channel has this crazy show called the BAD GIRLS CLUB - that show is just an insane train wreck I cannot stop myself from watching weekly on VOD!) There's a lot of new shows that I'm looking forward to seeing this season and a few I am amazed that got cut before they even had a chance that were released and aired last year in 2008 during that stupid writers strike (NEW AMSTERDAM, MOONLIGHT, OCTOBER ROAD, MEN IN TREES, CASHMERE MAFIA, JERICHO, the BIONIC WOMAN and others I mentioned RIP above)! I know how annoying this is with other folks who get into certain shows and the story lines/characters. Nielson ratings just blow and are the most horrid way of rating a show....they're inacurate by today's standards with TECHNOLOGY to watch when one want's to at their convenience! The bottomline is this, if there's something on the tube which piques my curiosity, I'm most certainly going to be viewing it one way or another. Yes, I suppose some might think it's a tad sick and obsessive...well I simply retort, "gal's gotta have her hobbies and her 'stories' along with those...so STEP OFF MY CHEESE MAN"! Anyway, that's what the fast forward button is for! Mash the dang thing if you don't like what you're watching and move on! Nuff said - I'm off my soapbox.

BooksWebster's Dictionary(s), Roget's Thesaurus, The Jones English Pronouncing Dictionary, Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewcz, Selected Biographies of Capitalists from the early to the later part of the 20th Century. Queen of Diamonds: The Fabled Legacy of Evalyn Walsh McLean, Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and anything written by Anne Rice, Stephanie Myers the Twilight Series, Charliane Harris's (HBO TRUE BLOOD) "The Sookie Stackhouse Series" about 'dead in dixie' and The Te of Piglet are on my top lists! I get into these reading modes and just read book after book then put it down and start something else...however I do enjoy books quite thoroughly...it's the feel in ones' hands, the smell of the paper....it's all so fantastic to be able to lose oneself in the words.....
Heroes My HEROS are NOT just tastey samiches...rather, they're Those who have the courage to do what I cannot. Or is it the sandwich or a person???? If it's the former, Jersey Mike's...if it's the later, my Parents (and estranged family) - Patricia & Richard. They've given me a solid foundation of ethics and love to learn and grow from - becoming who I am now (rather neurotic, a tad obsessive-compulsive, anal retentive, kind hearted, type-A personality who's wound a bit tight...BUT Hey! I've got a wicked sense of humor about it all even though I have low self esteem moments, I still put on my 'game face' as not to let folks know that I'm screaming internally. SHITE! I just let the cat out of the dang bag!) As usual I digress and ramble into tangents and am even known to dangle a participle or do something wicked with a preposition, back to the Folks - Their 32nd anniversary is on 11/05/09. Happy Anniversary Parental Units~! Keep on truckin! My inner child is a mean little fucker Steve Martin has been someone I've admired all my life...below is the writen word of: Steve Martin's "What I believe": I believe in rainbows, and puppy dogs and fairy tales. And I believe in the family: Mom, and Dad, and Grandma, and Uncle Todd, who waves his penis. And I believe in 8 of the Ten Commandments, and I believe in going to church every Sunday, unless there's a game on. And I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, wholesome, and natural things that money can buy. And I believe it's derogatory to refer to a woman's breasts as "boobs", "jugs", "Winnebago’s", or "golden bozos". And you should only refer to them as "hooters". And I believe you should place a woman on a pedestal, high enough so you can look up her dress. And I believe in equality, equality for everyone, no matter how stupid they are, or how much better I am than they are. And people say I'm crazy for believing this, but I believe that robots are stealing my luggage. And I believe I made a mistake when I bought a 30-story, one-bedroom apartment. And I believe that the "Battle of the Network Stars" should be fought with guns. And I believe that Ronald Reagan can make this country what it once was: an arctic region, covered with ice. And I believe the United States should keep all foreigners in this country, provided they can speak our native language: Apache. And lastly, I believe that of all the evils on this earth, there is nothing worse than the music you are listening to right now.

About me:
Free Cursors I'm on PROJECT PLAYLIST now known as PLAYLIST dot com slash chickylala FOR BETTER MUSIC & KEWLER TUNAGE! I had to spell it out because myspace keeps deleting the link! Wankers! My playlists have been disabled by Myspace because they suck and don't have a clue! Seriously, wanna groove? Just go to my playlist site and you can pop it out while you do whatever else ya wanna do if you're interested! Meez 3D avatar avatars games You are my friend when you can guard my failure, challenge my thought and celebrate my success. Meez 3D avatar avatars games Joie De Vivre! Spice of life....that's one way to describe me. I'm also somewhat of an enigmatic dichotomy. Once folks think they have me all figured out, WHAM-o! I sling the proverbial poo less expected. In the salad bowl of life, I am the peppercino....SPICEY, yet an acquired taste! I'm also mad crazy about John White Alexander's REPOSE that hangs in the Metropolitan Museum Of Art Mezzanine gallery. I adore that museum & everything else about Manhattan! That's one of my all time fave places!!! I could wander that museum for hours upon hours and still see something new in the old....
..
.. Professionally, I'm a Hairstylist/Makeup Artist and LOVE what I do.....I view it as a continuation of my theatre training. Sculpting, painting directly on the skin or prosthetic effects, slitting throats and making my blood by the gallons are a few skills I possess as well as making folks look and feel their personal best! I'm a REDKEN Color Specialist who ENJOYS a good hair challenge. Corrective coloring is one of my specialties! AND it's all about making folks look and feel beautiful one client at a time.

If I am calm in one anger, I'll skip a 100 days of sorrow.... Photobucket

Nice Day "Arete Opheleo Telos": Moral excellence accomplishes our end.

Currently, I am one of the foodslaves to 2 basset hounds, Lemon Poppy Sparky Pancakes and Cletus Mac-N-Cheese If You Please. YES, those are Really their AKC names. He's a red and white - about 79lbs. of GINORMOUS Moundage of Houndage! Cletus became a 3 year old on February 28, 2009! It's crazy how time has zipped by and our little puppy Cletus aka the "bear-pig" has turned out to become a Mr. Mouthy "Baby Huey". He's taller than Poppy (she's much more of a petite size 50-52lbs. of snausage). Sometimes Cletus goes 'flat basset' on us which is not as often as in the past since he's "become a man" with his newly discovered schneckle, yet I digress - he still looks like he has pancake butt. Our Lemon Poppy will be 5 years old as of 3/16/09. She's our little 'butch bitch' that is quiet inside but LOUD & PROUD while running the yard. Poppy isn't too fond of the labs or the wiener dogs on either sides of our fence. She's a tad finicky and NOT socialble like Cletus (but she does have the potential!). Having Cletus Mac join our family has REALLY helped Poppy not act sooooo psychotic....he's bringing some normalcy to that of our "Abi-Normal" hound.

In addition to those hounds, I also have a maroon bellied conure - Sr. Puerquito aka Mr. Piglet or Piggy with whom I attempt to speak Spanish, yet it comes out as Spanglish and all I receive in return from him are kissy sounds, my cackle/laugh imitated and him screaming at various venues of the day and least (yet importante) to mention, the hubster - John of 17 years legally 05/08/09. Basically, John and I shacked up back in college over 23 years ago (cheap rent). Besides getting my BA's from ECU I also got my MRS. Ok, that IS a bad joke! And my only feeble attempt at humor. Check Out Blinkyou.com for thousands of custom glitters and layouts In a nutshell, life is good. It is what it is. Not with standing, I quote Norman Cousins, "Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies within us while we live." Also, Albert Pine said: "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others & the world remains & is immortal." Photobucket 'Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.' -Ovid

Who I'd like to meet:
MySpace Graphics and Animations
Myspace Layouts I'm stealing this from DAG - "You. You are on my friends list here, so, yeah... I want to meet you!" & "Jesus. We'd be buddies. We'd hang out & shit. He would see me as sensitive & thoughtful. I'd compliment him on his choice of Birkenstocks." Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photobucket It's masochistic on my part, but I've always wanted to meet & get to know my biological father...NEWS FLASH!!! Alas that finally came to fruition for me this past weekend on 7/12/2009 after all of 43+ years! On the morning of 6/26/2009 I received a phone call from Harvey (and naturally I sounded like a blathering idiot babbling on mainly from shock and taken by surprise no doubt either!) I'm still in shock - it was pretty kewl to chat with him and the stuff he told me I can barely remember it all - my head is just swimming dizzy! I hope he tells me more about my family - I really am intrigued. Of all places - on that damn FACEBOOK I've connected to a few 'family members' who have given me validation and have welcomed me. They'll NEVER know how much that means to me.....I went searching for folks with my Paternal father's last name thinking I'd find some cousins, aunts or uncles and discovered an adopted brother of all things!!! Talk about a rude awakening! It was sort of awkward at venues and shocking too. But we've been in communique on the face and emails and have spoken a few times on the phone. I'm totally psyched! I know he thinks I'm like this uber dork chic - Hey ya gotta be who you are and all that stuff! Anyways, he's pretty kewl and I think we're getting to know one another and hopefully begin a nice friendship as well! I know we're not "blood" related, but he's 'family' and it's because of Michael that Harvey finally called me. Hey, I'm not looking or seeking anything monetary, just a need a to know MORE even though it might be something I don't wanna hear....I'm compelled to seek truth and knowledge....even if it's not pretty. I know life is not always pretty, it's ugly at venues and it's what you make of it. I hope I'm making my life and others good, for I do not seek anything but happiness in myself and for others. My adopted brother said in one of our earlier correspondences that "your drama is awesome!" it really isn't...it's only remarkable I've been able to keep on doing really. shabbat shalom motherfucker
