Stage name "Chikaadee"
April 25th, 1984 a star was born in a small village in Sri Lanka. Kisho Kumar, born second of four children, always knew he was destined for greatness, but not before tragedy would hit. At the age of two, he lost his older brother in a terrible accident, leaving him the eldest of two younger siblings. It was not long after that, when Kisho and his family fled from their homeland as a result of war, and moved to Canada in 1986. There he attended school in Scarborough, Ontario, the place where he grew up. After he finished grade seven, he and his family moved to India where he continued his education as a straight A student in all academic subjects. He attended St.John’s Academy situated in Chennai, Madras.
1999, Kisho and his family returned to Scarborough, where he continued his education at a high school named W.A. Porter. He was always the popular guy everywhere he went and he was very well liked. Although he loved music his entire life, it was here that he took a keen interest in poetry and music. His admiration for artists such as Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, and Celine Dion inspired him into composing and writing from the age of sixteen. Today he has written over one hundred and fifty songs that can be marketed to various genres of music including rap, reggae, rock, country and R&B. Being of Tamil descent he is equally versatile in composing Tamil music and bridging the western culture to that of the Eastern world. Kisho Kumar is destined to become the new face of Hip Hop in the music industry.
With the countless hours of writing and free styling, he became instantly recognized for his versatile lyrics and extremely catchy metaphors that he was often referred to as a “punch-line” rapper. His popularity amongst his peers and street rappers grew and he became known as Chikaadee. Today he continues to impress audiences with his unique raspy voice and very southern flow.
Currently residing in Oakville, Kisho has an amazing influence with the youths in his community and religious affiliation. Apart from being a rapper, singer and songwriter, Kisho Kumar aka Chikaadee, is a visionary. He hopes through his music and living an exemplary life style that he would be a positive role model to youths all over the world. His spiritual pursuit has taken him to many parts of the world including, India in 2006 where he attended a 30 day enlightenment course. He has also travelled to Switzerland, France, Germany and Singapore.
Chikaadee has made his entry into the music world in the name of love with his first single being called “Love the way”. He hopes to use his music to help bring people of the world together, thus his group name, The NatioN – WorldWide Hu$$lers. His concept of The NatioN is that there are no racial or religious divisions. In other words, “There is no more east side. There is no more west side. There is only WorldWide Hu$$lers.”
Kisho Kumar lives and breathes music. It is like the blood in his veins. He lives by strong beliefs that music is from the soul, for the soul. With his dreams of great success in the music industry, he is determined on becoming the next big icon.
