Welcome to the BLACK DAMP "Children Of The Damp" website. Black Damp was an original 3-piece band from Lafayette, Indiana that combined rock, metal, and punk to create a unique sound.
Primarily an original rock band that was always creating and performing new material and exploring rock and roll's many sub-genres,
Black Damp was formed in April of 2002. With Brian Boszor on guitar, Ray Stinson on drums and Karl Vaughn on bass and vocals. Their 1st EP "3 Songs" featured the single "Pornography" that received airplay in Fort Wayne, Indiana on X102.3 FM's local music spotlight in 2003. Black Damp placed 4th out of 16 bands in a battle of the bands competition in Lafayette, Indiana in 2004, and had a very positive live show review published in the Tipp-C Arts & Entertainment Guide in Lafayette. During 2006 Black Damp completed and self released their 1st full length album "Building a Head", and played throughout the year in support of the album. After taking time off in the early part of 2007. BLACK DAMP began working on new material for a 2nd full length "Return to Mechanical Devices" and managed to record one new track as a single, "Solar Wind" before breaking up due to "irreconcilable Differences" in May of 07. Each member has taken on new projects and looks forward to rejoining the Lafayette music community.
Black Damp would like to thank all those who supported and assisted us over the years.
