Chill Tribe Records is a record label based in Oslo, Norway, run by PKS. The label focus on relaxed psychedelic electronic music, dub, ambient and tribal stuff, done by top artists from around the globe. PKS (the label owner) is djing on various festivals around the world, including Sonica Electronic Music Festival (Italy), Voov Experience (Germany), Full Moon Festival (Germany), Soulclipse Total Solar Eclipse Festival (Turkey) and Boom Festival (Portugal).
The first compilation (Quality Relaxation) was released June 2005, featuring tracks by Entheogenic, Elysium, Shulman, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Ishq, Jaïa, Cell, PhasePhour, Space Cat, Altitudes and Blue Planet Corporation.
The Second compilation (Relaxed Journeys) was released September 2006, featuring tracks by Saafi Brothers, Altitudes, Adham Shaikh, Nada, Jong, Digitalis, Makyo, EldarLife, Circular and Solar Quest. See cover artwork in the picture section...
The third compilation called EAR PLEASURE was released March 2007, featuring tracks by Robert Leiner, Kris Kylven & Syb-Sonic, Kiwa, Blue Planet Corporation, Highpersonic Whomen, Digital Mystery Tour, Bluetech, Zen Lemonade, Cosmosis, Slot Machine/Snake Thing++. It is mastered by Tim Schuldt and Detlef Funder.
Wombatmusic - Shameful Silence was released on the 27th of April 2007. It's a beautiful album by Kristian Thinning Andersen from Denmark, most known as Elysium, as well as other projects such as Kaaya with Paul Jackson, Kailash with Tsuyoshi Suzuki, Sheyba with Jean Borelli (Orion) etc. He has been a recording artist since 1992, releasing on labels such as R&S, KK/Nova Zembla, Dragonfly, Flying Rhino, BNE and Avatar Records to name a few. All income from the CD sales goes uncut to the support of the Lebanese refugee children in Lebanon.
Polyploid - Grow Your Own was released in the end of August 2007. Polyploid is Chris Gannon from the UK, who has been releasing music since the early 90's, including vinyls and an album (Touch Proof) on Intruder Records, besides tracks on compilations on various labels such as Mazzo, Kickin, Chaos Unlimited and Polygram. Some of the tracks on this album is made together with Deviant Electronics (Ciaran Walsh). See the blog for more info...
Ian Ion - Gringo Locomotion was released December 2007/January 2008. It's a solo ambient/IDM album by Ian Ion from Denmark, also known for several other groundbreaking projects, such as Koxbox, Saiko-Pod/Psychopod, Sri Hari, Russia Heat, Conamore, Epoptika etc. See blog for more info...
Sunkings - Before We Die was released March 2009. They are from the UK, including vocals by Juno Reactor vocalist Taz Alexander. Sunkings has previously released albums on highly respected GPR and Blue Room Released.
