MySpace a place for friends

The story ot the Chimps begins in early December 2002. Terry had heard of an open mic night (www.earthhum.org) at a pub in Widnes called The Ring O' Bells. He fancied getting up to do a bit and managed to persuade Neil, his former band mate that it'd be a "good idea". And so it was, on the Friday before Christmas, The Chimps were born.

With appetites whetted, and with a little outside encouragement, Terry then set about doing a few more tunes with Neil helping out on lyrics. Terry and Neil returned to Earthhum a couple more times to play their new songs, which were, incidentally, extremely well received. The writing and performing continued and it was around Easter that the lads approached Splodge, who they'd seen playing double bass with a view to him getting up the next time they played. Splodge agreed and The Chimps as they are now played their first gig at The Wellie in Widnes one Wednesday night in June 2003.

We want to encourage the chimp that lives inside everyone. If you can strum a chord, yodel in the bath, whistle out of tune.... heck even if you can only tap your foot then you, my friend, are wanted down at the lodge for band practice!! Now that we've worked out how to embed videos, here's number 1 doing nothing in particular, just chimpin' around....
