About me:
ChinAide Chinchilla Rescue and Re-Homing is an organization dedicated to the rescue of abandomed, neglected, and no longer wanted Chinchillas. Every year many chins are purchased from pet stores as pets for children, dorm pets, or by people who think they are getting a fuzzy lap pet. When they are disappointed, or the novelty wears off, these chins are set free, dumped at animal shelters, or left to starve. To help stop this, we do what we can to educate new or perspective owners about chins and their care. Kendra, our very first rescue, years ago was a dorm pet, who was half-starved and losing her hair. You wouldn't know it now! She now has a pernament home with us.
We quarantine every chin coming to us to make sure they are healthy before finding them new homes. If they need medical care they get it. No chin leaves here before it's ready. We have an application process for adoption, and there is a $70 adoption fee per chin. This helps us run our program, and deters those who are not serious potential owners, as well as those who might want them for fur. We have a screening process all potential adopters must go through before getting a chin. We do not tolerate those wanting chins for fur or labs! Our goal is to find pernament, loving homes for our rescued chins.
We also rescue other small animals. These include, but are not limited to ferrets, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, sugar gliders, skunks.
If you have a chin, or other small animal, that you can no longer keep for any reason, please contact us. Be sure to give contact information so that we may get ahold of you to make arrangements to get the chin.
We also have a breeding program, and do offer chins for sale occasionally.

Here is a brief summary:
When I last wrote about oil on Saturday, Dec 20, 2008, I was lucky enough to precisely pick the bottom of the West Texas Intermediate. (According to DOE data, Texas light sweet crude hit its daily five year low of $30.28 the following Tuesday.) Back then, an ounce of gold would buy you 21.3 barrels of oil, over 25% more than the 25 year average of 16.8 barrels. Currently, we are at 13.5 barrels of oil per ounce, which is almost 20% less than average. Given the deflationary economic environment and newly overheated stock market, I would rather bet on oil taking a tumble than gold prices catching up. Especially because other commodity prices confirm this line of thinking.
