China Shop Music was founded in 2004 by music attorney Christian Unruh and Lou Stadler. Shannon Cheshire, aka Shopgirl joined China Shop as Director of A&R in January 2007, and has recently expanded our offices to Virginia. China Shop Music compilations are sent free to industry taste-makers, radio, music supervisors, and to you - if you ask nicely.

The goal of our team here at China Shop Music is simple: advancing the careers of artists we love in a variety of ways and exposing new music that will make music fans happy. Our team possesses a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts and can advise and help with radio promotion, digital promotion, artist management, securing publishing and recording deals, licensing and other legal issues. China Shop Music co-founder Christian Unruh is an entertainment attorney in Miami. He graduated from UC Berkeley and Tulane Law School. In New Orleans, Unruh is also known as "Christian West" for his work in launching the alternative radio station 106.1 The Zephyr. In 1998 he was a co-founder new media outlet www.fastband.com (where he first worked with China Shop co-founder Lou Stadler), formerly housed on the world famous Bourbon Street - the first internet radio station with live VJs offering digital downloads of the music. After 7 years of doing radio promotion for the major record labels, and a stint of A/R with Food Chain Records in LA, Christian is an entertainment attorney whose passion is discovering new artists. Shannon Cheshire, Director of A&R, has worked with Christian since 2001 as an independent consultant, and now heads up A&R out of our new Virginia office. Her music business acumen paired with her extensive industry networking skills have added new depth and dimension to China Shop Music.
We have recently added new staff members: Garrett Philbin, Kathleen Gerschutz and Julio Pabon, who all studied music business at the Univ. of Miami. They are already keeping us on our toes!

The same is happening to private military companies (PMCs), which have been assuming more and more army and police functions. On a significant scale, it started in the nineties in former Yugoslavia, but contract workers were especially widely used in Afghanistan and other conflict zones. They did the ‘dirtiest’ actions.
We are witnessing the creation of the global electronic concentration camp, and crisis, conflicts and wars are used to justify it. People tend to tremble in the face of an imaginary danger and are too lazy to see the real one.

we're coming over from Belgium to Miami in a few weeks and thought about two things: do you know some place we could rent for a couple of hours/a day or two in order to tape some tracks; and second thing we'd like to drop you off a disc with some of the tunes we think are worth listening to with a professional ear (so not exactly what is on our player for the moment, check our reverbnation for more tracks).
