Chingus is a six-piece band that takes their listeners on a musical journey that crosses multiple genres while maintaining a strong, danceable groove. And as always, expect a few surprises along the way. Now in their fourth year of existence, the band remains based out of Chico, California. All members are alumni of California State University, Chico. Originally, members come from the California towns of Morgan Hill, Sacramento, Lake County, and Saratoga. Chingus is the 2007 Cammies Award Winner for Best Funk and Jam Band.
Butter and You Like It is the bands first full-length album recorded in the summer of 2004. It has recieved air-play on local radio stations in San Francisco, Humboldt County, and Chico. It is available at select stores in Chico, San Jose, and San Francisco or online at cdbaby.com.

Wharf to Wharf Race in Santa Cruz, 8am Sunday July 26
Sunday, July 26, we play the Santa Cruz Wharf to Wharf Race, so we'll be out on the street at 8am. We learned "Eye of the Tiger" just for this event, haha. Hope to see you there, as a visitor or as a blur running by. We'll be at 26th Avenue and East Cliff Drive.

Hello Fellow Band Mates, Friends and Business Associates:
I'm in a National Drum Contest right now representing Dixon Drums. The rules required a two minute video short (see link below) that will be voted on by the public. Think American Idol for drummers. The Dixon team is scoring by 30% technical ability, 30% Originality and 40% Presence (Show). I need a four star or higher rating to get into the final six.

Comments are also welcome. The contest started in mid July and I just joined September 18th (ends September 27th) therefore my competitors have a heck of a head start. As a result I quickly need all the positive votes I can get.
