About me:
I am probably not what you think I am... Who is?
I have good manners when receiving emails but rarely initiate them as I hate the potential rudeness on the internet. My basic philosophy: "Think what you like." Rarely do I wake up in the morning seeking to change anyone's mind about anything -- I believe in a society of free thinkers. Some call this liberalism...
I am not a "news junkie". To explain: I seem more and more to encounter this type of person who believes himself to be very global but really is simply not emotionally present in his own life, and instead is constantly yammering on and on about strife in some country he'll never set foot in prior to death. While I know what's "going on" in the world and so know my own context, strife is, was and always shall be. To avoid the responsibility of creating one's own life, while simultaneously fixating on one's allegedly elevated state of consciousness (AND while looking down your nose at, say, the Lindsay Lohans of the world) seems a colossal waste of time, life and energy. Eh, any port in a storm for some people, I guess... But, advice? Lighten up, we are all headed to the same place. (pssst: starts with "bone", ends with "yard"...)
So let's face it: the news is about what mankind is destroying. I am more interested in what mankind is creating. To wit: painting, literature, film, sculpture, architecture, poetry, photography, MUSIC. Ultimately, don't tell me what you're against. Tell me what you are FOR. Me? I'm pretty polarized - I am most drawn to the deeply obscure and the insanely popular.
You may have a bit to overcome in getting my attention (if asking me out on a date) if your profile contains any of the following: Pictures of your dog or dogs. Pictures of you with your dog or dogs. Pictures of your car or truck. Pictures of you with your car or truck. (Oops. Don't do as I do...) Any of the following numbers as your age: 69, 99, 100 or 101.
The worst thing that ever happened to this country was the Pilgrims. Yeah, I have no use for Puritans, especially the ones that are still here today! I actually used to think it was my destiny to dismantle Christianity (that's what growing up Catholic in Southern Baptist territory will do). How ambitious, huh? If so, I must be a late bloomer. Heh. And not because of the message, which I like and practice, but for all that is being wrought in the spectacular distortion of this message. I like the silent church before the service better than any preaching I've ever heard... And I believe that you may safely assume you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do.
But really this whole damn world is completely entertaining, isn't it?: people in traffic, in the grocery store, in the airport; our dreams that we buy back from Hollywood for $9.00 a pop, the random and ridiculous and gorgeous detail of this planet... I just can't close my eyes to the beauty and the spectacle of it all... till that day I'm walking down a busy Manhattan street and a grand piano falls on my head, I guess.
I keep up with friendships that are all over this world. Not only do I find this to not be difficult, I think it is a big part of having an enriched life. Do not mistake kindness for neediness. And do not mistake genuine interest in your life as my not having a life. This doesn't just apply to me but to all people I think. I believe it's called humanity. Yeah, I'm a real human being...
This beautiful (yes, beautiful) album has been in the making for over a year, us Noble Brats, have worked so hard to create a perfect mirror of our essence and did everything by ourselves. From recording to mixing to mastering. and the result has exceeded even our own expectations. All the songs in this album are full of contrasts and a rockin' out exploration and critique of the different emotions that control our lives, emotions that might keep us in an unhealthy relationship even when we know it's not good for us, emotions that drive some to systematically cut into their own skin to get a sense of control over their pain, emotions that make us wonder about our place in this world. So if you feel ready to take a chance and go on a journey into the darkness of our souls, we promise you a light at the end of the tunnel, you might even see yourself in our eyes.
A-Ha's 80's Classic 'Take on Me' — Taken Literally. A brilliant remake of a groundbreaking video...in which everything is described exactly as it happens.
