“Electrifying”. . . “highly entertaining”. . . “Wow!”. and. ”amazing” are all phrases used to describe this artists performances. His solos have been described as “. . . like watching (Jimi) Hendrix on bass”. His live performances are constantly compared to “the excitement of watching Prince, Michael Jackson, and James Brown all at the same time”. Every audience that witnesses his shows are compelled to ask “Where have you been, and why did it take you so long to get here?!” But oddly enough, these comparisons and comments don’t really affect Chip Ratliff like you would think. “I’m just honored and humbled by the fact that my name is even muttered in the same sentence as the people that have influenced me throughout my life. Not to mention that people even care about what I’m doing musically.”
Chip Ratliff (bassist, singer, songwriter and producer) has excited audiences worldwide. He has contributed soundtrack work for films, scored a local television commercial, been featured on radio (WGCI, WXRT, WVON), television (WGN, WBBM, WLS), and is founder of the New Rhythms & Arts Festival – a festival designed to showcase fresh new talent from the Chicagoland area.
