Chisai Jackson: Biography
Toronto based singer/songwriter Chisai Jackson has captured audiences both in his hometown and internationally. A critically acclaimed artist who has sold over 5500 CDs independently, Chisai’s modern songwriting style maintains a classic element that keeps audiences engaged and intrigued to hear more. In 2004, Chisai released his full-length solo debut A Few Bucks Short of Taking Over. Produced by legendary Can-rock and Juno award winning producer Tim Thorney (Alanis Morrisette, Jimmy Rankin), A Few Bucks… immediately began to garner rave reviews and sell out in music retailers. Even more attention has been directed to the album as two of its tracks A Fine Time and Novocaine were featured exclusively on CTV’s hit TV program Degrassi the Next Generation.
To follow up on the success of A Few Bucks… Chisai released Intermission (Summer 2006); a stripped down acoustic recording of four new songs to give his fans a more intimate listen. Intermission provides the listener with a beautiful collection of simply produced songs that showcase both Chisai’s natural songwriting abilities and signature vocals.
Chisai is currently recording a new record. The new record, currently titled 77 will include songs that he has already previewed to enthusiastic live audiences including, Clockwatching, When My Ship Goes Down, Just What It Is,and the brand new song Sway etc.
NOTES, Chisai Jackson (aka. Ryan Isojima) fronts the Toronto-based rock band, THE FRAMEWORK. They have a self-titled CD, The Framework (released July 2007) and have played a ton of shows over the past two years - including a couple stints in New York and Ottawa. Cancer is the weapon of human destruction and so many people are diagnosed with this on a daily basis. Whether we like it or not we're all affected by this C word because every one of us am sure knows one or more people with some form of it right now or who had it - some lucky people are fortunate to survive it, but many unfortunately don't, sadly. For this reason it's sooo important that money is donated for cancer research so there are better treatments and even cures for the various forms of cancer. Stand Up To Cancer is a great cause that you should add, support and see what you can do to help. Personally, I'm already thinking about doing some sort of personal project to raise money myself so that I can donate to SUTC. I support many causes, but right now this one is close to my heart because recently I lost an old school friend of mine to it.
