"There is only one thing that separates the great players from the not so great, and then the non- players. It is simple: the great ones have been at it for as long as they can remember, and the thought of quitting was not an option. The urge to throw in the towel can be overwhelming. They never learned anything any easier than you can. They never learned anything more quickly than you can. They never had an angel of God visit them in the middle of the night giving them special instructions on how to play".
Jeff Newman (1942-2004). This quote goes for much more than just music.
I only usually perform the songs I write. Why? Because that's why I picked up a guitar in the first place - to get something out of me.
I've been around a bit; started with celtic trad before someone heard my own stuff and encouraged me to broadcast it.
Had a break in playing for 20 years and came back to it all about 7 years ago. I've recorded 2 CD's and another one will be completed this June (2009)
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

Hello, We are playing The Leopard in Donny on the 24th of February. It would be great if you could pop in (as we are foreigners from Sheffield, and will be scared and lonely in a new town).
We put on a good show, but don't take out word for it here's some nice stuff other people have said.
An Amazing Live Act {Sandman Magazine)
Real feel-good stick in you head tunes (Sheffield Music Scene Magazine)
Promising Song writers (Tom Robinson BBC Radio 6).
Many thanks for your comment Bob. It was good to have that conversation re. the state of the current folk scene and what we're both doing and where we're both going! Our discussion gave me an added impetus to get on with it! Thanks for that. I'll think about Saltburn for next year - I once played at the folk club there many years ago. By the way, your songs have a lovely hypnotic quality about them and great lyrics too - I might have said this before, but no harm in repeating!
Hello Bob, Really enjoyed listening to your songs. Look forward to meeting you in June and playing at The Monday Music Club. Cheers for now, Tim and Blind River Scare.
