For the last 8 years I worked at Juvenile Court in the detention center and residential treatment center ( I sooo miss my homies!) This year I took a job as a tech in a hospital ER so that I could gain some experience and practice my skills- I've been in nursing school for the last 3 years. I'll be an RN in May!!! Everything has been on hold- my social life, children, career- and I'm finally getting really excited about what I'm going to do. Almost everything out of my mouth is "after May, I want to..." Right before I decided to go back to school, Kris and I bought a beautiful house out in Manchaca- and we have soooo many things/ projects that we can't wait to get started on. I've been with my gorgeous girlfriend for 8 years and we live in some semblance of harmony with our 6 animals- 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bird, and a lizard. My blessings are too many to count, but I try to remember to try!.
Music
I love music! Old school, R&B, rap (yes- I like it gangsta') I have a real musical identity crisis- right now I have Snoop, Beyonce, Mariah, and the Enya Christmas album in my purse. Hey- I like to mix it up! I'd die without Blue October, but it can be sandwiched between Trick Daddy and the Eagles.
Movies
I'm probably a little too serious (aka "judgemental") about films. I don't just watch them for entertainment- I'm interested in quality and how the movie was made. There's a lot of stupid shit out there- probably made to be funny, but notsomuch to me.
My all time favorite is The Hours. I really loved Pursuit of Happyness.
Television
L word, 24, Medium, and Oprah. I DVR- haven't seen a show the day (ok, probably the week) it aired in years.
