In "musical" terms, if you combined the fire of Chaka Khan, the sophistication of Anita Baker, the earthiness of Stevie Nicks, the poetry of Seal, and the headiness of Steely Dan, you might get singer-songwriter Chloe White.
A self-produced artist, Chloe has a sound that defies borders. Her debut release, L'épanouissement EP (The Blossoming) displays her eclectic style of writing, and production. This after spending a number of years around George Duke's studio, where she learned about the production and engineering process that went into some great recordings for amazing artists like Anita Baker, India Arie and George Duke himself.
Ms. White's forthcoming full length CD, Make It Real promises to take you on an extended journey, beginning in autumn 2009. Recorded with such gifted musicians as Mike White (Steely Dan), Grammy-winner Ricky Lawson (Michael Jackson), Alex Al (Anita Baker) and Goffrey Moore of Jonatha Brooke's band, Chloe has produced a fresh sound that is hers alone.
Chloe White was awarded a Canadian FACTOR CD grant on the strength of two original songs. The beautiful, bilingual West Indian/Canadian, has lived and performed around the world. This musical artist has a background in dance and drama, and an imdb credit to prove it. On stage her stunning voice and electric presence engage and inspire audiences. Her haunting ballads "Make It Real," and "Sadie" or the acoustic "Amazed" will move you to tears, while others like "Tight Wire" will make you get up and dance. She connects with you through music and movement. She is the new Lady of soulful rock.
